Publication number: 20230071253Abstract: An enhanced ranking approach is used to evaluate selected metrics for various services, including search and recommendations for online marketplaces and other search engine-related applications. This includes a ranking system capable of learning neural networks which efficiently tradeoff between different business objectives. For instance, a hybridized ranking system combines the strength of relevancy focused models with the flexibility of ES via ensembling to solve multi-objective ranking problems.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2021Publication date: March 9, 2023Applicant: ETSY, Inc.Inventors: Andrew Stanton, Akhila Ananthram

Publication number: 20220405531Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for optimizing a plurality of parameters of a black box system with respect to a distribution of the plurality of parameters are disclosed. Methods can include obtaining a fitness function of the black box system and a training dataset including multiple training samples. Methods can further include training an ensemble of machine learning model wherein during each iteration of the training process an output of the system is generated for each of the multiple training samples. During each iteration, a predictive value is also generated using an ensemble of machine learning models. A natural gradient is determined based on the output of the system and the predictive value. The ensemble of machine learning models is then trained using the natural gradient.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2021Publication date: December 22, 2022Inventor: Andrew Stanton

Patent number: 11126966Abstract: A method for using a web registry to track the inspection compliance of an owned asset including notifying an owner of an asset that an inspection is needed to comply with a code. Electronically transmitting a list of at least one qualified inspector to a user. Receiving a completed inspection uploaded from an inspector. Transmitting the completed inspection to an approving authority. Completing a monetary transaction between the asset owner and the inspector when the inspection is approved by the approving authority. A system for a web based compliance registry including a database configured to store owned asset information. A user interface in data communication with the database configured to show owned asset information on the display. A handheld device configured to wirelessly connect to the user interface and with the database in order to input and view owned asset data wirelessly and specific information based on its global position.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2008Date of Patent: September 21, 2021Assignee: TEGRIS, INC.Inventors: Andrew Stanton Moren, Robert J. Patent number: 10617553Abstract: A neck orthosis, head support system and method of use for supporting a head of a patient having a medical condition are described. The neck orthosis can comprise a body made of a material which is flexible and stretchy and a releasable fastener. The neck orthosis is shaped to cause the neck orthosis snuggly to conform to the anatomy of the patient adjacent the neck of the patient when the neck support is secured in use about the neck of the patient by the releasable fastener to support the head of the patient. A head support system can include a plurality of different support members which can be releasably attached to the neck orthosis to provide different types of support to the head of the patient.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2014Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: THE UNIVERSITY OF SHEFFIELDInventors: Alexander Heathcliff Reed, Joseph Langley, Andrew Stanton, Nicola Heron, Christopher McDermott

Patent number: 9142148Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a reminder label, specifically to a thermoplastic adjustable reminder label that is configured to indicate removal of content from a bottle to which the thermoplastic reminder label is coupled. The label has a flanged thermoplastic knob extending above a rectangular flange with a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. A pair of resilient units is coupled to the flange along transverse sides and extends beyond the transverse sides. Each resilient member terminates in protrusions to engage parallel grooves etched internally in each of longitudinal parallel walls (101, 102) of a housing (130). A flap (110) is hingedly coupled to a housing base frame (140) to frictionally engage the housing and form a floor.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2013Date of Patent: September 22, 2015Inventor: Andrew Stanton

Patent number: 5969623Abstract: A gas detector is disclosed which includes a CO sensor and a processor. The CO sensor senses an environmental CO concentration and provides a variable electrical output in response. The processor receives digitized samples of the sensor's electrical output and computes, with each measurement sample, a COHb level of a hypothetical person exposed to the CO concentration sensed. The computation involves determining an equilibrium COHb level for each measurement sample, which is compared with a previously computed COHb level associated with previously measured samples. The previously computed COHb level is updated based on the comparison. When the computed COHb level is above a predetermined danger threshold, the processor preferably causes an audible and visual alarm to be activated to alert any persons present. The gas detector can further include a CH.sub.4 sensor coupled to the processor for independently sensing CH.sub.4 levels such that an alarm is activated when the CH.sub.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 1997Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Marketspan CorporationInventors: Byron Fleury, Andrew Stanton
