  • Publication number: 20160265410
Abstract: A product is disclosed for recovering heat and may include a housing with two flow paths defined through the housing. A number of tube assemblies may be disposed in the housing. The tube assemblies may comprise an inner tube and an outer tube with a space defined between the inner tube and the outer tube. One flow path may be defined through the inner tubes, and the other flow path may be defined outside the outer tubes. A phase change material may be disposed in the spaces of the tube assemblies. The phase change material may change phases when exposed to a temperature change.

  • Patent number: 9210914
Abstract: A specialized conditioning protocol for honeybees that is designed for use within a complex agricultural ecosystem. This method ensures that the conditioned bees will be less likely to exhibit a conditioned response to uninfected plants, a false positive response that would render such a biological sensor unreliable for agricultural decision support. Also described is a superboosting training regime that allows training without the aid of expensive equipment and protocols for training in out in the field. Also described is a memory enhancing cocktail that aids in long term memory retention of a vapor signature. This allows the bees to be used in the field for longer durations and with fewer bees trained overall.

  • Patent number: 8341600
Abstract: A tool facilitating organizing code review via tagging changes in the code such that developer reasoning and reviewer comments are captured during the development process; thus documenting the development process. The tool providing intuitive presentation of changes and change sets based on the purpose of the change. The tool enabling retrieval of the information documenting developer and reviewer rationale during development and after development is complete.

  • Publication number: 20070238126
Abstract: A labelled polymeric bead wherein individual beads comprise a primary particle formed of a synthetic polymeric material, and at least one secondary particle entrapped within the primary particle of the bead and being comprised of a synthetic polymer material incorporating reporter moieties.

  • Publication number: 20060269913
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of producing a DNA library comprising a plurality of DNA sequences of interest, where each DNA sequence of interest has at least two predetermined positions, with at each predetermined position a codon (MAX) selected from a defined group for that position, the codons within a group coding for different amino acids.

  • Patent number: 7069295
Abstract: A peer-to-peer storage system includes a storage coordinator that centrally manages distributed storage resources in accordance with system policies administered through a central administrative console. The storage resources, or “nodes,” are otherwise unused portions of storage media, e.g., hard disks, that are included in the devices such as personal computers, workstations, laptops, file servers, and so forth, that are connected to a corporate computer network, and are thus otherwise available only individually to the respective devices. The storage coordinator assigns the nodes to various “replication groups” and allocates the storage resources on each of the nodes in a given group to maintaining dynamically replicated versions of the group files. The storage nodes in a given group perform dynamic file replication and synchronization operations by communicating directly, that is, peer-to-peer, using a message-based protocol.

  • Patent number: 6578293
Abstract: A suction excavator including an air pump for generating a flow of air and a nozzle through which air is drawn under the influence of the air pump, the nozzle being arranged when in use to suck up spoil from an excavation, and a mechanism for separating spoil from the air drawn through the nozzle. The excavator is provided with a fuel gas detector to detect for the presence of fuel gas in the flow of air drawn up through the nozzle. When fuel gas is detected a valve may be actuated to interrupt the flow of air up through the nozzle and instead to admit air from a substantially fuel gas free source to flush any fuel gas out of the system reducing the risk of an explosion.

  • Publication number: 20020114341
Abstract: A peer-to-peer storage system includes a storage coordinator that centrally manages distributed storage resources in accordance with system policies administered through a central administrative console. The storage resources are otherwise unused portions of storage media, e.g., hard disks, that are included in the devices such as personal computers, workstations, laptops, file servers, and so forth, that are connected to a corporate computer network. The devices are hereinafter referred to collectively as “storage nodes.” The system thus centrally administers and manages the system-wide reuse of storage resources that are otherwise available only individually to the respective devices. The storage coordinator manages the distributed storage resources by assigning the nodes to various groups and allocating the storage resources on each of the nodes in a given group to maintaining dynamically replicated versions of the group files.
