  • Publication number: 20060059770
Abstract: The use of an additive composition to improve the conductivity of a fuel oil. The additive composition comprises a polymeric condensation product formed by the reaction of an aliphatic aldehyde or ketone, or a reactive equivalent, with at least one ester of p-hydroxybenzoic acid.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 27, 2005
    Publication date: March 23, 2006
    Inventors: Andrew Sutkowski, Graham Jackson
  • Publication number: 20050223629
Abstract: A method of inhibiting deposit formation in a jet fuel at temperatures above 150° C., whilst not substantially adversely affecting the water separability of the jet fuel. The method includes the step of adding at least one copolymer, terpolymer or polymer of an ester of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or a derivative thereof to the jet fuel; wherein the copolymer, terpolymer or polymer of an ester of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or derivative thereof is copolymerized with a nitrogen-containing, amine-containing or amide-containing monomer; or the copolymer, terpolymer or polymer of an ester of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or derivative thereof includes nitrogen-containing, amine-containing or amide-containing branches.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 12, 2004
    Publication date: October 13, 2005
    Inventors: Andrew Sutkowski, Roger Glyde
  • Publication number: 20050183325
Abstract: An fuel oil containing a conductivity improving additive comprising the combination of: (a) an oil soluble succinimide dispersant comprising a functionalized hydrocarbon reacted with an alkylene polyamine and (b) a conductivity improver comprising (i) an olefin polysulfone and (ii) a polymeric polyamine reaction product of epichlorohydrin and an aliphatic primary monoamine or an N-aliphatic hydrocarbyl alkylene diamine, or the sulfonic acid salt of the polymeric polyamine reaction product or (c) the combination of an oil soluble succinimide dispersant comprising a functionalized hydrocarbon reacted with a heavy polyamine and (d) a conductivity improver comprising a hydrocarbon soluble copolymer of an alkylvinyl monomer and a cationic vinyl monomer, wherein the copolymer has an alkylvinyl monomer unit to cationic vinyl monomer unit ratio of from about 1:1 to about 10:1, the copolymer having an average molecular weight of from about 800 to about 1,000,000.
