  • Patent number: 6843654
Abstract: A dental composition comprising self-lubricating particles and formed into a dental tooth. The invention provides a dental tooth formed from a composition which includes polymeric matrix material and particles of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene having a particle size less than 500 microns, and a weight average molecular weight greater than 1,000,000 g/mole chemically bonded to the matrix material and the composition formed into an aesthetic dental tooth. The tooth has an outer face, and at least one of the particles is smeared over the outer face.

  • Patent number: 6384107
Abstract: Dental composition, product and process using a silicon containing abrasion resistant material. The dental products formed are abrasion resistant and self-lubricating across their entire cross sections. Dental compositions useful for forming dental products in accordance with the invention preferably includes an ethylenically unsaturated silane. The composition is formed into a dental prosthesis, such as an artificial tooth, inlay, onlay, facing, crown or bridge.

  • Patent number: 6139322
Abstract: A denture includes a tooth and denture base. The tooth includes an interpenetrating polymer network polymeric matrix and at least 0.1 percent by weight of self-lubricating particles having a particle size less than 500 microns effectively bonded to and distributed in the polymeric matrix. The denture has a bond strength between the tooth and the denture base of at least 4,480 psi.

  • Patent number: 5452219
Abstract: A method for the making of a tooth mold which includes the steps of scanning the surface of a model of a tooth to obtain data on the three-dimensional surface locations of the model, processing the data in a CAD/CAM computer, and using the processed data to fabricate a tooth mold. The scanning step involves subjecting a rotating tooth model to radiant energy from a laser beam, receiving and translating reflections of the radiant energy into electronic signals, and digitizing the signals into data of the three-dimensional surface locations of the tooth model. The processing step involves translating the data, editing the data, creating a three-dimensional surface pattern of the tooth model, evaluating the surface pattern by visual analysis and comparison to known geometric values of the tooth model, and creating a tooth path program.

  • Patent number: 4375360
Abstract: Methanol fuels are modified by the addition of materials which provide required lubricity and protection for engine parts while retaining compatability with the methanol fuel. Methanol fuel is methanol itself or any fuel containing a majority of methanol by volume. In addition, these additives help lubricate cylinder walls and decrease wear and corrosion.
