  • Patent number: 8291244
Abstract: A device, such as an integrated circuit is described including master units, and slave units connected by an interconnect. In addition to the normal data signals and address signals passed with a transaction, there are also passed usage signals which specify the time interval until a next transaction will be sent to a slave unit. A local slave power controller is responsive to such usage signals to switch into a low power mode and pre-emptively switch back to an operational mode in time to respond to the next transaction to be received.

  • Publication number: 20090259861
Abstract: A device (2), such as an integrated circuit is described including master units (8, 10) and slave units (6, 18, 20) connected by an interconnect (14). In addition to the normal data signals (22) and address signals (24) passed with a transaction, there are also passed usage signals (26) which specify the time interval until a next transaction will be sent to a slave unit. A local slave power controller (34) is responsive to such usage signals (26) to switch into a low power mode and pre-emptively switch back to an operational mode in time to respond to the next transaction to be received.

  • Publication number: 20050188005
Abstract: A system for storing information having a predetermined use which requires the information to be secured. The information may comprise credit card details used to complete a transaction. The system includes: (a) A client system for storing an encoded version of the information and an identifier. The encoded version is generated from first data of the information and an encoded version of the second data of the information. The information can be generated from the first data and the second data, and the predetermined use is infeasible with only one of the first data and the second data, (b) A remote server for storing the second data and an encoded identifier generated from the identifier. The client system sends at least the encoded version of the second data to the remote server. The client system or the remote server is able to generate the information from the first data and the second data.

  • Publication number: 20050114616
Abstract: A data processing apparatus and method are provided for controlling access to a slave device, the slave device having an address range associated therewith. The apparatus comprises control storage programmable to define a partition identifying a secure region and a non-secure region in the address range, with the data processing apparatus supporting a plurality of modes of operation including a secure mode, and the control storage being programmable only by software executing in the secure mode. A master device is arranged to issue an access request onto a bus, the access request identifying a sequence of addresses within the address range and including a control signal indicating whether the access request is a secure access request or a non-secure access request. The secure region is only accessible by a secure access request.
