    Abstract: An injection system including a wearable component (e.g., a patch) adapted to be worn by a user, and a medication delivery component (e.g., injection device) configured to cooperate with the wearable component to deliver medication to the user. The wearable component can provide a target area to the user for targeting the medication delivery component during use, and further serve to prepare the injection site to minimize the potential for injection site reactions. Both the wearable component and the medication delivery component can include electronics and/or other devices for detecting and/or communication information regarding usage of the injection system including dose amount, frequency, time, etc. The system can be configured to communicate such information to a third party, such as a health care professional.
