Patent number: 12085926Abstract: A method includes determining, based on physical characteristics indicated by first data, a plurality of sensor operations associated with a plurality of structures. The method further includes updating a structural health management system to indicate the plurality of sensor operations and, after updating the structural health management system, sending a plurality of notifications to the plurality of portable field devices. The method further includes receiving, in response to sending the plurality of notifications, second data from the plurality of portable field devices indicating results of the plurality of sensor operations. The results are generated by a plurality of tools used to perform the plurality of sensor operations. The method further includes performing, based on the results of the plurality of sensor operations, a plurality of remote structural health monitoring operations to determine one or more structural health characteristics of each structure of the plurality of structures.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2021Date of Patent: September 10, 2024Assignee: Mistras Group, Inc.Inventors: Andrew Wilhelm, Ryan J. Streeter, Dimitri T. Grammatikopoulos, Kenneth L. Brister, Rich J. Mills

Publication number: 20070256884Abstract: A steering control system is provided for a vehicle having a steering wheel, steerable wheels, and a hydraulic steering actuator for controlling a steering angle of the steerable wheels in response to a hydraulic control signal. The steering control system includes a hydro-mechanical valve coupled to the steering wheel and generating a first hydraulic signal as a function of steering wheel position, an electro-hydraulic valve generating a second hydraulic signal as a function of an electronic control signal, an electronic control unit generating the electronic control signal, and a hydraulic combining unit which combines the first and second hydraulic signals supplies the hydraulic control signal to the hydraulic steering actuator. The steering control system also includes a steering wheel angle sensor, a yaw rate sensor, and a steered wheel angle sensor. The control unit generates an electronic control signal as a function of the sensor signals.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2006Publication date: November 8, 2007Inventors: Andrew Wilhelm Rekow, Troy Schick, Todd Rea, Robert Recker

Publication number: 20070014431Abstract: A system and method are provided for detecting one or both eyes of the driver of a vehicle. The system includes a video imaging camera oriented to generate images of the driver's face. The system also includes a video processor for processing the images generated with the video imaging camera. Filters are applied to each of potential eye candidates to determine which candidates represent an eye, weighted values are assigned to the filtered eye candidates, and an eye is detected based on the weighting of each eye candidate. According to one aspect, different size patches of potential eye candidates are processed and compared to models.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2005Publication date: January 18, 2007Inventors: Riad Hammoud, Andrew Wilhelm
