  • Patent number: 11884421
Abstract: A UAV launch system including a launch rack mounted at altitude, and housing one or more UAVs, and a ground station. The ground station may activate the UAVs for a high-altitude launch. In a further aspect, the UAVs are configured for a stationary, high-altitude launch, without low altitude launch features. Launching a UAV from a high-altitude (greater than about 30 meters or 100 feet) fixed location like an Aerostat or tall building allows the designer to eliminate much of the functionality required for launching the UAV from low altitude as well as ignore the aerodynamics required to support launch (e.g. near-stall) flight conditions.

  • Publication number: 20220239129
Abstract: A system and method for UAV power management includes a processor for monitoring power loads in the UAV and switching power sources based on a load profile in real time. The system may monitor flight phases or issued commands to proactively switch power sources in anticipation of an eminent change in the load profile.

  • Publication number: 20210381822
Abstract: A system and method for identifying available cargo space and allocating that available cargo space while in transit includes a plurality of sensors for measuring space from reference surface of a cargo container to pallets in the cargo container. Such distances are aggregated to identify unused space in real time. The unused space is used by a freight management system to identify cargo along the same route that can use the unused space.

  • Publication number: 20070054246
Abstract: A system and method for teaching sound/symbol correspondences in alphabetically represented languages including selecting an alphabetic character string, choosing a tangible representation for a sound that the alphabetic character string is used to represent, and associating the tangible representation with the alphabetic character string based on the probability that the alphabetic character string is used in a written word to represent the sound represented by the tangible representation. In one embodiment, a sound is first selected, and an alphabetic character string is chosen that represents the sound. The alphabetic character string is associated with the sound based on the probability that the alphabetic character string is used in a word to represent the sound.

  • Publication number: 20050048450
Abstract: The present invention relates a communication media and method of communication which allows anyone to mutely create a representation of their language without requiring of them any prerequisite literacy or rote memorization. Further, the present invention relates to a process of presenting language to someone without requiring from them the ability to hear or requiring from them any prerequisite literacy or rote memorization. Finally, the present invention relates to other methods of utilizing this communication media to transfer written words and sounds of any nature from word to sounds and vice versa without requiring from them the ability to hear or requiring from them any prerequisite literacy or rote memorization.

  • Patent number: 6491035
Abstract: A glans sheath device having a reservoir capable of containing preferrably 8 cc's of seminal fluid and having said reservoir compacted and packaged to be protected and remain compacted during coitus and able to deploy distally outward to contain seminal fluid flooding the reservoir. Restraining legs attached to the perimeter of the glans sheath flange tautly restrain the flange over a multiple-piece restraining tool so that the glans sheath can be easily handled during a flange to glans bonding operation. A protective backing covers over adhesive on the proximal surface of the flange to protect the adhesive prior to bonding.

  • Patent number: 6450070
Abstract: A locking plier tool of the threaded shaft design which has an adjustment dial located in the midbody of the fixed handle. This dial location affords the operator the ability to adjust the jaw gap of the tool with the thumb digit while simultaneously handling the plier body with the finger digits of the same hand, making the jaw gap adjustment a one hand operation.
