Abstract: Examples of maintaining or querying a traffic database to generate a traffic flow model to provide traffic flow information and determine a per-lane route for a vehicle to travel are disclosed.

Abstract: A health sensing device is described for placement on a user. The device may include a sensor, a filter, and a transmitter. The sensor is configured to sense one or more factors relating to an indicator of a health related condition or occurrence. The filter is configured to evaluate a signal from the sensor and determine if the indicator has been detected. The transmitter is arranged for initiating a transmission based on a signal from the filter. The sensor can include one or more microphone devices, accelerometers, and/or MEMs devices. A method of monitoring a user for a health related condition is also described.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for routing data across a multicore processing network. The system includes a multicore processing array having a plurality of processing cores, a memory for storing data relating to an object being modeled, the data being associated with coordinate information relating to the object within a coordinate system, and a controller for routing the data from the memory to one or more of the plurality of processing cores of the multicore processing array based on the coordinate information associated with the data. The present disclosure also relates to a method for routing data across a multicore processing network and a computer accessible medium having stored thereon computer executable instructions for performing a procedure for routing data across a multicore processing network.

Abstract: A data center management system may include a processor coupled to a network. The network may be further coupled to a primary data center and a secondary data center located at a physical location remote from the primary data center. The processor may be adapted to execute computer implemented instructions to determine a first transition point for the primary data center with respect to a secondary data center on the basis of one or more financial indicators, transfer one or more data center tasks from the primary data center to the secondary data center at substantially the first transition point, and execute the one or more transferred data center tasks at the secondary data center.

Abstract: A grill has a base that supports a grill body. A right and left lid are hingedly affixed to the grill body. The lids interconnect to ensure that they open and close together. A plurality of vents is defined by an upper surface of the lids. A shelf having a right portion, a left portion, and a rear portion substantially surrounds the grill body except for the operator position to the front of the grill body. The shelf and the right side of the grill body define a right retracting space. The shelf and the left side of the grill body define a left retracting space. The lids pivot outwards into the left and right retracting spaces to retracted positions wherein the uppermost portions of the lids and the uppermost surface of the grill body are substantially even with or below an upper surface of said shelf.

Abstract: Systems and methods for disseminating data to users and enabling user customization of the data are disclosed herein. Access to the database is provided to one or more user devices, which are usable to select one or more items of data. Upon receiving a selection of one or more items of data, one or more customized notes can be received from a user device and stored in association with the selected data. Each note can be provided with a designation which selectively controls whether viewing of the note is permitted to all other users, or whether viewing of the note is restricted to the user from which it originated or users within a selected user group. A note screen containing all viewable notes associated with a selected item of data can thereby transmitted to the user device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for maintaining a continuous connection for the instantaneous transmission of audio/visual content between end points on a packet-based network. After a communication link is initially established between two end points connected to the network, the communication link is maintained on a continuous basis so that audio/visual content can be instantaneously transmitted from a source end point to a destination end point or end points when a user desires to communicate with the destination end point. The communication link is continuously maintained by various methods including across the packet-based network by transmitting signaling information between the end points that signifies that the communication link should be kept open and alive.

The marketing component includes free or discounted access to an application program that provides various services in exchange for the user's agreement to use the search engine program as a primary search engine.

Abstract: Disclosed is a combination food and nutraceutical package which provides convenient and easy access to a food product and at least one nutraceutical. The packaging comprises two segments which secure the food product and the nutraceutical so as to provide a shelf-stable environment that prevents contamination between the various contents. In one embodiment, a single nutraceutical is packaged with a food product. In other embodiments, multiple nutraceuticals with a food product are secured. In yet another embodiment, the food product and nutraceuticals are placed within a tray and then sealed with the two segments. The food product is preferably a fruit based substance, but it may take other forms. The nutraceuticals may be a solid mass, in pill or capsule form, or they may be liquid housed within a container.

Abstract: An edible drinking straw for use in consuming beverages is disclosed. A first layer of a fruit film is coated with a zein solution, and spirally wound. Subsequent layers of the fruit film may be wound on the first layer, each subsequent layer being attached to the previous layer with an adhesive. The outer surface of the straw may be coated with the zein solution.

Abstract: The invention is related to a fusion polypeptide involving transcription regulation of a target gene. Said fusion polypeptide consists of (i) a zinc finger domain that recognizes and binds to the corresponding nucleic acid recognition sequence in the vicinity of a promoter of the target gene; (ii) a dimerization domain of a tetracycline (tet) repressor which contains a drug (e.g., tetracycline)-dependent switch, and (iii) an accessory domain which alters the expression of the target gene (such as an transcriptional activation or repression domain). This fusion polypeptide can be administered to, or expressed in, a cell harboring the target gene to be regulated.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for parallel execution of primitives in 3D graphics engines. It includes detection and preservation of dependences between graphics primitives with the ability to execute multiple independent primitives concurrently while preserving their ordering because the architecture of the graphics engine for the present invention further provides concurrent resources for parallel execution. In a first preferred embodiment, primitives are executed in parallel using an in-order dispatch unit capable of detecting dependencies between primitives. In a second preferred embodiment, an out-of-order dispatch unit is used such that not only are primitives executed concurrently; but, the primitives may be executed in any order when dependencies are detected.

Abstract: A portable entertainment apparatus capable of communicating with a digital entertainment server is provided. The digital entertainment server is operable to store video content, and the portable entertainment apparatus is operable to store at least part of the video content stored in the digital entertainment server. The portable entertainment apparatus may include (i) a communications interface for downloading video content from the digital entertainment server in digital format, (ii) a storage module for storing the downloaded video content; and (iii) a controller coupled to and operable to control the operations of the communications interface and the storage module. The controller is operable to control the communication interface so as to download to the portable entertainment apparatus at least part of the video content stored in the digital entertainment server responsive to the portable entertainment apparatus establishing a communication with the digital entertainment server.

Abstract: A video server adaptively selects an appropriate video encoding standard and an appropriate video encoding rate for encoding video content to be downloaded to one or more video client devices over a communication network. The video server adaptively selects the video encoding standard and the video encoding rate based upon factors such as the data transmission rate of the communication network, the processing speed of the video client device, or the type of the video content to be downloaded. Once the video encoding standard and the video encoding rate are selected, video content can be transcoded prior to downloading to one or more video client devices. During the download, the video content may be adaptively transrated, such as in response to a change in the data transmission rate of the communication network.

Abstract: There is disclosed a decoder circuit (20) for decoding input data coded using a variable length coding technique, such as Huffman coding. The decoder circuit (20) comprises an input buffer (100), a logic circuit (150) coupled to the input buffer (100), and an output buffer (700) coupled to the logic circuit (750). The logic circuit (750) includes a plurality of computational logic stages for decoding the input data, the plurality of computational logic stages arranged in one or more computational threads. At least one of the computational threads is arranged as a self-timed ring, wherein each computational logic stage in the ring produces a completion signal indicating either completion or non-completion of the computational logic of the associated computational logic stage. Each completion signal is coupled to a previous computational logic stage in the ring.

The honeycomb material includes an upper surface on which goods may be placed, a lower surface, a first pair of opposed perimeter walls, and a second pair of opposed perimeter walls. A first pair of slots is integrally formed in the lower surface of the honeycomb material. The first pair of slots extend between the first pair of opposed perimeter walls. A second pair of slots is also integrally formed in the lower surface of the honeycomb material. The second pair of slots extend between the second pair of opposed perimeter walls. Both the first and second pair of slots are engageable by forks of a material handling device.

Abstract: A push button mechanism for a lacrosse head is used to attach a head securely to the lacrosse handle. The mechanism comprises a button and a spring clip. The mechanism is placed into the shaft of the lacrosse handle and the push button locks in the corresponding hole. By pressing the button down, a lacrosse head can be slid over the hole and the push button can secure the head to the handle by locking into the corresponding hole of the lacrosse head. Using a push button attachment mechanism allows the user to easily change heads without the worry of damaging or stripping the holes of the head or handle and without the worry of carrying tools.
