Abstract: A method of operation of an electronic reader system includes: identifying a first feature point on a first multimedia book when a behavior pattern matches or exceeds a threshold pattern; generating a first bookmark corresponding to the first feature point; ranking a mark importance priority of the first bookmark based on the behavior pattern; rendering the first bookmark for displaying on a display; and updating the display based on the mark importance priority.

Abstract: Embodiments generally relate to time-based reading content. In one embodiment, a method includes opening a content file, wherein the content file contains time-dependent content items. The method also includes determining the time of day, determining which time-dependent content items to display based on the time of day, and displaying the time-dependent content items based on the time of day.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for presenting a reader application. In one embodiment a method includes displaying a user interface for a reader application, the user interface including a graphical representation identifying a digital book, and detecting a selection of the user interface associated with the graphical representation identifying the digital book. The method may further include detecting a bookmark file associated with the digital book, the bookmark file stored by the device, and presenting data associated with the bookmark file by the device, wherein the data is presented in association with presentation of the digital book. The method may allow for presenting one or more of a greeting message and digital engraving as an overlay to the digital book.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for orientation sensitive configuration of a device. In one embodiment a method includes detecting a change in orientation of a device, and configuring a display of the device based on the change in orientation. The method may further include assigning operation of one or more buttons of the device based on the change in orientation, wherein a button of the device is assigned one or more functions not previously assigned to the button. The method may be performed by one or more of portable electronic device, media player, eReader, personal communication device, handheld computing device, imaging device, tablet computing device, imaging device, gaming device and computing devices in general.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for establishing a network addressable collection of one or more media files based on a social connection. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request from a user to establish a collection associated with an event, wherein the collection relates to a network addressable site configured to provide a user interface for content provided by the user, and receiving content from the user to be stored with the collection. The method may further include receiving identification information from the user for one or more participant users, and transmitting a notification to the one or more participant users, wherein the notification includes a graphical display including a graphical representation of the content stored in the collection.
