Patent number: 11943340Abstract: In some examples, for process-to-process communication, such as in function linking, a virtual channel can be provisioned to provide virtual machine to virtual machine communications. In response to a transmit request from a source virtual machine, the virtual channel can cause a data copy from a source buffer associated with the source virtual machine without decryption or encryption. The virtual channel provisions a key identifier for the copied data. The destination virtual machine can receive an indication data is available and can cause the data to be decrypted using a key accessed using the key identifier and source address of the copied data. In addition, the data can be encrypted using a second, different key for storage in a destination buffer associated with the destination virtual machine. In some examples, the key identifier and source address is managed by the virtual channel and is not visible to virtual machine or hypervisor.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2019Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Bo Cui, Cunming Liang, Jr-Shian Tsai, Ping Yu, Xiaobing Qian, Xuekun Hu, Lin Luo, Shravan Nagraj, Xiaowen Zhang, Mesut A. Publication number: 20240098219Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a spatialized display of chat messages within a messaging platform. In an example method, a computing device displays a spatial chat user interface (UI) including a virtual background and one or more spatialized avatars overlaid on the virtual background. The computing device receives chat messages sent by a participant and displays, adjacent to the spatialized avatar representing the participant, chat bubbles having a first appearance. The computing device displays chat bubbles for other participants having a second appearance. The computing device receives one or more additional chat messages sent by the participant. The computing device displays additional chat bubbles corresponding to the additional chat messages having a third appearance and updates the appearance of the initial chat bubbles to a fourth appearance.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicant: Zoom Video Communications, Inc.Inventors: Oded Gal, Andrew Law, Sally Lu, Ping Luo, Sharvari Nerurkar, Archil Vardidze, Zheng Yuan

Publication number: 20240094445Abstract: A liquid lens with flexible transparent active layers on both sides of a fluid is transformed along two distinct deformation axes. The flexible transparent active layers include piezoelectric materials that actuate the lens in response to applied voltage(s). The piezoelectric properties and actuation mechanism of the transparent layers are arranged to deform the lens cylindrically along different axes resulting in a net spherical deformation or a combination of spherical and cylindrical deformation with substantially less distortion than spherically deforming layers. The piezoelectric active layers may be polymer or ceramic with isotropic or anisotropic mechanical stiffness. Alternatively, a pair of transparent, internal layers are positioned between the front and rear surfaces. The active layers, front and/or rear, are dual layers affixed together with an adhesive or single layers.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2022Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicant: Meta Platforms Technologies, LLCInventors: Nagi ELABBASI, Christopher Yuan Ting LIAO, Jonathan Robert PETERSON, Sheng YE, Eugene CHO, Spencer Allan WELLS, Andrew John OUDERKIRK, Emma MULLEN

Patent number: 11932900Abstract: An example of an array includes a support, a cross-linked epoxy polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) resin film on a surface of the support, and a patterned hydrophobic polymer layer on the cross-linked epoxy POSS resin film. The patterned hydrophobic polymer layer defines exposed discrete areas of the cross-linked epoxy POSS resin film, and a polymer coating is attached to the exposed discrete areas. Another example of an array includes a support, a modified epoxy POSS resin film on a surface of the support, and a patterned hydrophobic polymer layer on the modified epoxy POSS resin film. The modified epoxy POSS resin film includes a polymer growth initiation site, and the patterned hydrophobic polymer layer defines exposed discrete areas of the modified epoxy POSS resin film. A polymer brush is attached to the polymer growth initiation site in the exposed discrete areas.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2022Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignees: Illumina, Inc., Illumina Cambridge LimitedInventors: Wayne N. Publication number: 20240084121Abstract: A mechanically and piezoelectrically anisotropic polymer article is formed from a crystallizable fluoropolymer and a nucleating agent. The polymer article may be a thin film or a fiber, for example. A crystalline phase may constitute at least approximately 50% of the polymer article. In certain examples, a fluoropolymer may include vinylidene fluoride, trifluoroethylene, chlorotrifluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, and vinyl fluoride. The polymer article may include up to approximately 10 wt. % of the nucleating agent. Such a polymer article is optically transparent, has an elastic modulus of at least approximately 3 GPa, and an electromechanical coupling factor (k31) of at least approximately 0.15.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Sheng Ye, Jinghui Yang, Rui Jian, Hao Mei, Andrew John Ouderkirk, Christopher Yuan Ting Liao, Stephen Hsieh, Alexander Keener, Jonathan Robert Peterson
