  • Patent number: 9262076
Abstract: User experience of the performance of a computing device is improved through an operating system that processes inputs from a soft keyboard to provide information that can be used to accurately determine keys a user intended to strike while typing. For each detected tap, the operating system provides a probability that one or more keys were the intended target for the user. These probabilities may be computed from probability distribution functions that are dynamically determined based on user and/or system factors, such as typing rate and keyboard style or layout. Other components may use the probabilities to select a key corresponding to a detected keyboard tap as representing the intended user input. The selection may be made based on the probabilities alone or in combination with contextual factors that yield an overall probability that a detected tap arose from a user targeting a specific key.

  • Publication number: 20150226524
Abstract: A method of using an apparatus that improves aiming accuracy with manually operated firearm provides a means to support the front part of the firearm's barrel and moving the barrel in parallel with the movements of the firearm's butt. Small rotations of the firearm's muzzle are measured by high resolution angular position sensors and rectified by moving the muzzle mount of the apparatus in horizontal and vertical directions which result in rotation opposite to the measured deviation from correct aiming direction, thus preserving the orientation of the manually operated rifle parallel to desired aiming direction.

  • Publication number: 20130265639
Abstract: A system with a calibrated rotary encoder can be used for accurate telescope tracking along the Right Ascension (RA) rotation axis. The system includes an incremental quadrature optical encoder, a microcontroller unit (MCU), a timer, an electronic memory, and a control interface. The rotor of the encoder is coaxially attached to the RA drive shaft of the telescope mount in order to send angular position data for the RA drive shaft to the MCU. The MCU evaluates the angular position data for errors and send corrections to the control mechanism of the RA drive shaft. The electronic memory stores calibrated reference data, which is compared to the angular position data by the MCU. The calibrated reference data can be found by measuring the movement of a reference star across an image. The system can also calculate an accurate visible speed for the Earth's rotation in a desired direction.

  • Patent number: 7548259
Abstract: A method and system are provided for creating a higher resolution still image from a multiple video frames having a lower resolution. The system includes a sampling mechanism for extracting multiple video frames captured by a video recording device and an output mechanism for outputting a single high resolution still image from the multiple extracted video frames. The system may include an analysis module for performing an analysis to determine if the selected lower resolution video frames can be combined into a single higher resolution still image.
