Abstract: A system and method for allowing a listener to selectively capture and record information encoded within a radio or television broadcast signal and later use said information in order to obtain product/retail information related to the broadcast. The system and method comprising a remote server having a memory/database for storing programming information from a radio broadcast of a member station, a data capture device for allowing a user to selectively capture and record inaudible information encoded within said radio broadcast, and software for allowing the data capture device and the remote server to actively communicate via the Internet such that the selectively captured and recorded inaudible information can be used to access and retrieve relevant programming information stored at the remote server and enable immediate purchase or further research of items described by that programming information.
