Abstract: The invention is related to methods and devices for generating spatial images. The method comprises forming at least two directional radiation beams in a selected viewer's plane, each of the at least two directional radiation beams having a power from 0.05 to 10 of a human eye differential threshold for a current viewing condition, and directing at least two directional radiation beams to intersect and form a light spot at a crossover point, the light spot having an angular dimension corresponding to an angular resolution of a human eye and making the light spot visible from any point within the viewer's plane. Imaging is provided by means of a spatial displacement of a crossover point with an appropriate variation of brightness and/or color of said point, if required.
