  • Patent number: 10042987
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for, e.g., providing a statutory audio content service on a portable device that complies with the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). The user can select a playlist subject to DMCA restrictions but cannot access individual items. Content playback, including skipping of content, is restricted to enforce relevant DMCA provisions. Encryption used to implement digital rights management (DRM) may be modified to enforce such content play rules or, alternatively, an additional layer of encryption may be imposed. Limitations on playback are stored along with the playlist structure in a form that is protected against modification. Information logging content playback is maintained in protected form to be uploaded and relayed to the service provider for the purpose of calculating royalty payments.

  • Publication number: 20180089594
Abstract: An analysis server receives data of multiple types. The analysis server uses multiple generated and pre-trained analysis models and semantic layer operations to analyze the data and search for and detect correlations, trends, and/or predictions using adaptive artificial intelligence or machine learning algorithms. The analysis server then transmits data to a viewer device identifying the detected correlations, trends, and/or predictions, thereby displaying notifications, charts, or graphs at the viewer device. The analysis server may then check to see if the detected correlations, trends, and/or predictions hold true based on new data, and can adjust, augment, or evolve the pre-trained analysis models based on this, or can assign or adjust confidence scores to each of the pre-trained analysis models based on this.

  • Publication number: 20170351753
Abstract: An analytic visualization, such as a chart or graph, embedded into a container. The container is embedded into a portal, such as a web page, that is viewable by a viewer device. To update the analytic visualization, an update server receives a data request from the viewer device or from a container host server that hosts the container. The update server generates a data processing instruction based on the data request, which it sends to data sources. The data sources store a full dataset, and are configured to extract a processed dataset from the full dataset based on the data processing instructions. The update server receives the processed dataset from the data sources, applies one or more semantic layer operations to the processed dataset, and generates a visualization update based on the result. The update server then transmits the visualization update to the viewer device or container host server.

  • Publication number: 20170331833
Abstract: A method and system is described securely capturing up-to-date data and presenting the up-to-date data in an analytic visualization. An update server receives a data request from a container that can display the analytic visualization. The update server generates a data processing instruction and transmits it to a data server. The update server then receives a processed data set from the data server, generates a visualization update based on the processed data set, and transmits the visualization update to the container. The container can then display the analytic visualization with up-to-date data from the data server. Because the data processing is performed at the data server, the remaining data on the data server is never moved through the network and remains secure. The update server can also receive from the container, and transmit to the data server, an identifier whose permissions limit data access from the data server.

  • Publication number: 20170206684
Abstract: A first container embedded into a web portal is used to output a first analytic visualization that visualizes a first dataset. A second container embedded into a web portal is used to output a second analytic visualization that visualizes a second dataset. The contents of the first dataset and second dataset is different subsets of data from one or more data sources stored at one or more data servers. One or more update servers is situated communicatively between each of the containers and the corresponding data servers to ensure filtering of data is performed at the data servers and that no other data beside the first and second datasets reach the containers. Data is shared from the second container to the first container if the two containers share at least one data type. Data sharing is performed at the container level, the update server level, or the data server level.

  • Publication number: 20170164030
Abstract: Matching advertising information to media content/user combinations in which information and content are delivered to a user over a network is disclosed. Content providers and advertisers may find out about the offerings of one another as well as user profiles and preferences thereby facilitating agreement of ads with content and users. Viral syndication is also facilitated by allowing the user to share downloaded media with friends and associates. Users may bookmark, share, and/or request/find more content with similarities to the downloaded content with various analytics being reported with respect to the same.

  • Publication number: 20160322021

An update server receives a data request from a container that can display the analytic visualization. The update server generates multiple data processing instructions and transmits these instructions to each of the data servers that have access to one of the multiple data sets. The update server then receives multiple processed data sets, each processed data set corresponding to one of the data sets. The update server generates a visualization update based on all of the processed data sets, and transmits the visualization update to the container, so that the container can display the analytic visualization with up-to-date data from each of the data sets. Because the data processing is performed at the data servers, the remaining data on the data servers remains secure.

  • Publication number: 20160321224
Abstract: A method and system is described for publishing an analytic visualization. A publisher system receives an analytic visualization from a generation interface and generates a container associated with the analytic visualization. The container can be embedded into a portal, such as a website, document, or presentation. The container can transmit a data request to an update server and receive from the update server a visualization update that includes a processed data set. The container can then incorporate the visualization update to generate and display an updated analytic visualization that incorporates the visualization update. Because the container can receive updates from an update server, the analytic visualization can be made interactive and kept up-to-date. The container can also send an identifier associated with a data permission setting along with the data request, and in this manner can limit certain individuals or machines from accessing certain data through the analytic visualization.
