  • Patent number: 7952785
Abstract: A manufacturing method of electrochromic devices (10) includes the steps of providing a first and second sheet including a first (22) and second (24) plastic substrate, respectively, at least partially coated with a first (12) and second (14) electron conducting layer, respectively. The first sheet is at least partially coated with a first electrochromic layer (16). The second sheet is at least partially coated with a counter electrode layer (18). The first and second sheets are laminated with an electrolyte layer (20) interposed in-between into an electrochromic laminate sheet (30). The electrochromic device is at least partially defined by forming a seal (50) through the electrochromic laminate sheet (30) at a distance (D) from a peripheral edge (31). The distance (D) is preferably larger than the mean diffusion lengths of oxygen, water or an electrolyte component in the electrolyte during a predetermined time period.

  • Patent number: 6965813
Abstract: The invention relates to a climate control system comprising at least one radiation reducer and a climate control unit for controlling the radiation reducer. Which system further comprises a usage detection system coupled to the climate control unit. It also relates to a method of climate control in a room, using a climate control system comprising at least one radiation reducer, which method comprises the steps of detecting if the room is in use or not, if in use, setting the radiation reducer in a mode of high transmittance, if not in use, setting the radiation reducer in a mode of low transmittance.

  • Patent number: 6500287
Abstract: The present invention discloses a color-modifying method, which comprises the provision of a metal oxide thin film (14) based on Ni and/or Cr. The method is characterized in that, when coloring the metal oxide film (14), exposing the metal oxide thin film to ozone, and when bleaching the metal oxide film, exposing the metal oxide film to UV radiation (18). A lamination process or a deposition of another thin film may follow the exposure. Preferably, exposing the metal oxide thin film (14) to ultraviolet radiation (18) in an oxygen-containing atmosphere (20) provides the ozone exposure and exposing the metal oxide thin film to ultraviolet radiation (18) in an oxygen-free atmosphere (20) provides the ultraviolet exposure.
