Abstract: An insert for a panel opening, the panel having edges disposed therewith proximate the opening, the insert comprising a resilient member having a perimeter and two ends, the member being flexible in a direction transverse to ends of the member when the insert is inserted in the opening, the member having disposed intermediate the ends thereof at least one recess having a bottom, the recess for securing the edges of the panel therewith when the insert is inserted in the opening of the panel, the bottom of the recess being positioned to allow for the lateral movement of the insert in relation to the panel opening transverse to the ends of the member.

Abstract: An improved latch mechanism, components therefor and processes of manufacture of the components are disclosed. The improved latch mechanism comprises a ratchet, pawl, at least one release lever for releasing the pawl for releasing the ratchet and a locking lever for precluding the at least one release lever from releasing the pawl, the pivot point of the pawl and the at least one release lever being the same. The ratchet and pawl may abut one another along the center line of the striker receiving opening in a latch housing when the ratchet is in its locked position. A child proof safety lever is disclosed as is a one-piece method of manufacturing plastic housing carrying soft silencers, noise reducers, sealing portions and bumpers.

Abstract: An operating mechanism suitable for use in a vehicle door latch mechanism comprising structural components for locking, the operating mechanism comprising:(a) an inside handle release lever for being operated from the inside of the door;(b) an outside handle release lever for being operated from the outside of the door;(c) structure for being engaged by the inside handle release lever and outside handle release lever, the structure being connected to release the structural components of the latch mechanism for operation;(d) at least one of the inside handle release lever and outside handle release lever being movable to a position whereat the release lever cannot engage the structure to release the structural components when operated.

The seat assembly is slidable on tracks for permitting ease of access to behind the seat, and is provided with a front and rear end comprising three track assemblies, a fixed lower track assembly, a middle or second track assembly releaseably secured to the lower track assembly, and when released, being slideable to the front end with respect to the lower track assembly, and an upper or third track assembly releaseably secured to the middle track assembly, and when released, being slideable to the front end with respect to the middle track assembly. The seat assembly includes a "memory" for returning the slideable set assembly to its initial position.
