  • Publication number: 20180035167
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for presenting content items to a user of a device having a network interface and a controller configured to generate a graphical user interface, the method comprising performing the following steps within the device: receiving, from a program guide data provider accessible over the network, program guide data for a plurality of content items; generating a graphical program guide to display program guide data for the plurality of content items; allowing the user to select a content item of interest; extracting from the program guide data, extended information for the selected content item; presenting the extended information for the selected content item. The method further comprises extracting from the program guide data an URL for a trailer video clip accessible over the network from a trailer video clip provider; accessing the trailer video clip; and presenting the trailer video clip for the selected content item.

  • Patent number: 8928805
Abstract: It is disclosed a method for changing channel in a television appliance. Upon reception of a user command to tune on a desired channel (301), the television appliance is tuned on the desired channel (302) and audio and video packets are received. Video and audio packets are buffered in relative buffers, so that audio and video output can be generated by processing the buffered packets. Video output frame rate is increased from a first, slower, frame rate to a predetermined final frame rate. Independently from the frame rate increasing law, video output frame rate is raised to the final frame rate as soon as an audio output can be generated from the buffered video packets which is synchronized to the video output. A television appliance implementing the method is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080098418
Abstract: An electronic module for a digital television receiver comprises a multimedia CPU (211), a non-volatile memory block (212) connected with the multimedia CPU (211) via a memory interface (220) and storing a booter application for initializing the start-up of the digital television receiver, and a buffer (213) connected to the memory interface (220), configurable to enable or block access to the memory interface (220) for components (206, 209) external to the module. The invention provides a solution for securing the set-top box elements, including CA system elements and proprietary set-top box software, to prevent unauthorized access to them, their monitoring or replacement.

  • Publication number: 20060209906
Abstract: In a system for processing of television data streams comprising front-ends receiving at least two streams that are output to a descrambler (104) and then to a demultiplexer (106), a remultiplexer (102) is inserted between the front-ends and the descrambler (104). The remultiplexer (102) is capable of outputting a number of internal streams (103) having internal PID values, where the number of the internal streams (103) is lower than a number of the input streams (101) having original PID values. For managing the input streams (101) and the internal streams (103), a PID management module (115) is connected to the remultiplexer (102), the descrambler (104) and to the demultiplexer (106), whereas a PIDs database (113) is connected to the PID management module (115), which stores data about PIDs relation between the input streams (101) and the internal streams (103).

  • Publication number: 20050246735
Abstract: According to broadcasting method by invention, the errors inserted in the transmitter in the data are sent to the receivers via the first transmission channel and at the same time there is information created that determines a correction method of the inserted errors, and afterwards, this information is sent to the receivers via the second transmission channel. Reception's method of radio or television data consists in that in the receiver, the data stream, which contains errors, is received via the first transmission channel and at the same time information is received, defining the correction method of the inserted errors via the second transmission channel. The next subject-matters of the invention are a transmitter containing a unit (104) of encoders (103a, 103b, 103c) multiplexer (106) or generator (105) of the PSI data and receiver (110) of radio or television data.

  • Publication number: 20050231640
Abstract: An analogue and digital television signal receiver has an analogue signal receiving block (110), a digital signal receiving block (111) and blocks for processing digital data into an A/V signal. The analogue signal receiving block (110) of the receiver is linked to a block (121) emulating analogue channels as digital channels that is linked to a signal processing block (122), to which the digital signal receiving block (111) is directly connected. An analogue signal is passed from the analogue signal receiving block (110) via the block (121) emulating analogue channels as digital channels to the signal processing block (122) whereas a digital signal is passed directly form the digital signal receiving block (111) to the signal processing block (122).

  • Patent number: 4558011
Abstract: Method for preparation of pure hepatitis B surface antigen HBsAg from human plasma, wherein the initial plasma after being treated to remove lipides and partially remove human plasma proteins, is submitted to digestion with pepsin in amount of 0.01-0.50 mg/mg of protein to selectively decompose the plasma proteins while the antigen remains intact, filtered in a phosphate buffered medium, up to a pH value of 7.1-7.3, through molecular filters passing molecules of up to 100,000 Daltons, the infectiosity being subsequently de-activated by means of formaldehyde, in proportion of 1:2000 by volume, for 96 hours.
