Abstract: An exercise device for compression exercises is adjustable in height and in compression force. The device includes a central housing and a plurality of plungers extending from a top side. A support member is attached to the housing on a bottom side. The support member is movable longitudinally relative to the housing and plungers from a fully retracted position to a fully extended position and is lockable in a plurality of intermediate longitudinal positions to vary the height of the device. Each plunger is operatively associated with an internal bias member that biases the plunger away from the housing. Resistance force on a plunger is adjustable via changing tension of the associated bias member with an adjustment knob to finely adjust tension. An installed bias member is removable and replaceable with a different bias member to coarsely adjust tension.

Abstract: An adjustable and reusable electrical assembly has an electrical unit, such as a plug unit or light unit, configured to engage with a cable. The electrical unit has a body that defines a channel connecting opposite pass-through openings. A first contact member and a second contact member are positioned with at least a portion in the body, each contact member having a piercing member. The cable is engageable with the plug unit extending through the channel with one piercing member in conductive contact with one wire and the other piercing member in conductive contact with the other wire. The cable can be disengaged from the plug unit and re-engaged at a different transverse position to change the length of the assembly.

Abstract: A drum key includes a shank portion and defines a top hole for receiving an elongate rod, such as a drumstick. A distal end of the shank includes a socket engageable with a tension rod in a drum. A drumstick is insertable through the hole of the drum key to form a torquing wrench in situ. When formed, the drumstick forms a cross member that is used to apply a torquing force about the axis defined by the shank. Once used, the drumstick can be removed, yielding a low profile drum key that is portable.

A joint isolation element, such as a flexible band, is positioned at the front surface of the base, whereby the user keeps one or more fingers engaged with the housing while one or more other fingers can be extended against resistance.

Abstract: A pivoting plug adapter provides a conductive connection between first and second plugs. The adapter includes a pair of sub-assemblies attached to one another in a pivotal mechanical connection with each sub-assembly housing conductive elements. One plug extends from one sub-assembly and the other plug extends from the other sub-assembly. A central conductive sleeve extends between the respective sub-assemblies coaxial to the axis of rotation. A bias member is positioned between sub-assemblies to bias them away from one another. Another bias member is positioned within a sub-assembly as a member of the conductive path between the plugs. One or more of the bias members may be wave washers. The sub-assemblies are pivotal about the central axis to vary the position of the plugs relative to one another while maintaining conductive communication.

Abstract: A mounting assembly configured for detachably mounting a percussion instrument to an instrument stand is disclosed. The assembly has an instrument mounting assembly that has a clamp bracket, a clamp, and a wing screw. An instrument is held to the instrument mounting assembly by placing a mountable portion of the instrument between a set of notches carved out of a first and a second side of the clamp bracket and a clamp. The instrument is secured in the bracket by screwing the wing nut through a hole in a third side of the clamp bracket to cause the clamp to apply a force against the mountable portion of the instrument such that the instrument is held in place between the notches and a groove of the clamp.

Abstract: Devices that allow one or more objects to be quickly and easily attached to a musical device are described. In one embodiment, a spring-enabled mounting device is disclosed that allows a device such as a microphone to be removably attached to a musical instrument, such as a drum. The apparatus may be operable via the use of a single hand applying forces to manipulate one or more springs within the apparatus, thus allowing for convenient and timely attachment, removal, and/or repositioning of the object, such as a microphone, with respect to the instrument.

Abstract: Devices that allow for the attachment of one or more accessory instruments to a host instrument are disclosed, including a mounting assembly which permits the removable attachment of one or more percussion accessory instruments to a drum hoop. In some embodiments, attachment can be accomplished at least partially via a magnetic force provided by a magnet within or attached to the mounting assembly.

Abstract: Tunable cajón devices, including tuning and adjustment during a performance, are disclosed. In an aspect, the present disclosure provides a tunable cajón device wherein internal strings or cords under tension may be tuned via the manual manipulation of tuners accessible via a top surface of the cajón. As such, a cajón player may view tuner position and adjust the tuner from the traditional playing position. Adjustments (i.e., tuning of internal strings) may be done before, during, or after a performance.

Abstract: A snare cajón percussion instrument is disclosed. The instrument comprises a closed frame body having a plurality of sides, each side having a top portion, a bottom portion, an inner portion, and an outer portion. A rigid striking surface is securely affixed to the top portions of the plurality of sides. A snare apparatus having a brace, a fastener, and at least one snare element is securely attached to the inner portion of a first side of the frame body via the fastener and is configured to allow the snare element to alternatively contact and not contact the striking surface to produce a snare sound. The instrument may have a second striking surface that does not contact the snare apparatus and produces a cajón sound.

Abstract: A percussive shaker instrument with improved control in producing rhythmic sound and capable of producing different percussive sounds in a single shaker is disclosed. The shaker comprises one or more channels filled with a striker material. The channel isolates the striker material from the striker material in other channels and from any other part of the shaker. The striker material is freely movable within the channel such that it may collide with a striking surface when the shaker is moved.
