  • Publication number: 20160045958
Abstract: A method for the manufacturing of metallic matrix composites through plastic working is disclosed. In the method, the plastic working charge is in the form of wires, tape or tapes or foil, which is the first component being covered with the second component or components with granulation less than 100 ?m, after which they are connected by reciprocal surface contact, forming weaved bundles, and then the connected elements which form the charge material advantageously undergo initial rolling or drawing and in all cases the principal process, which is extrusion performed on a rolling mill with circumferential grooves, where between rollers a closing matrix is placed, rotating in reverse to its axis by an angle of ±20° advantageously ±12°, with a frequency up to 50 Hz, advantageously 15 Hz.

  • Publication number: 20150376727
Abstract: A method is disclosed for the manufacturing of elements of non-ferrous metal alloys, advantageously aluminium alloys, used for the manufacturing of shaped elements, in particular rods, in thermal treatment of metals. The charge will be subjected to plastic working of at least 60% deformation, advantageously by pressing with the degree of processing exceeding the value of 2, at a temperature below the range of occurrence of a solid solution, after which the obtained element undergoes the supersaturation process by heating it up to the temperature of occurrence of a solid solution and keeping it at this temperature for a period of 2-25 minutes, advantageously 5 minutes, and then rapidly cooled, advantageously using water, to the ambient temperature, after which it is subjected to the ageing process.

  • Publication number: 20140060141
Abstract: A method of extruding elements, especially made of metal, and a system for extruding elements, especially made of metal, are employed for production of elements by means of extrusion. The material is deflected from the infeed wheel tangentially or at an angle within 90° and is caused to flow locally within the area of the die, by the mandrel's rotary action. This method is executed in a system where in the gap's output area there is a wedge to deflect the direction of exit of the material fed by the rotating infeed wheel, and in the space between the friction block and the deflection wedge there is a mandrel caused to cyclically move bidirectionally at frequency of (0.1-10) Hz, whose face contacts the material in the area of transfer into the die.

  • Patent number: 5737959
Abstract: An improvement to a method for plastic forming of a material by rolling, forging or extrusion, by using a tool to exert a force on the material to obtain a product of desired geometry. The improvement comprises inducing in the material a reversible plastic strain in the form of shear bands localized in a zone of most intense deformation by the tool, by introducing a motion of the tool additional to a tool working motion which produces the desired geometry. The additional motion is reversible and transfers motion to the material due to intimate contact between the material and the tool.
