Abstract: There may be provided a module for use in a video decoder, configured to: receive a base decoded video signal from a base decoding layer; receive one or more layers of correction data; and, combine the correction data with the base decoded video signal to modify the base decoded video signal such that, when one or more layers of positive residual data are combined with the modified base decoded video signal to generate enhanced video data, the enhanced data corresponds to a combination of the base decoded video signal with one or more layers of residual data from the enhancement decoding layer, wherein the positive residual data comprises only values greater than or equal to zero and is based on one or more layers of residual data from an enhancement decoding layer, the one or more layers of residual data being generated based on a comparison of data derived from a decoded video signal and data derived from an original input video signal.

Abstract: A method of replacing low-quality audio content by better-quality audio content in media content comprising the low-quality audio content and video content. The low-quality audio content can be replaced with a received portion of the better-quality audio content by compiling the received portion of the audio content with the video content. Included is any of: compensating for an amount of timing misalignment between the low-quality audio content and the received portion of audio content; obtaining fingerprint data for the audio content of the media content by using hash values of spectrogram frequency peaks; and obtaining one or more feature vectors from the audio content of the media content to reduce a size of a search of stored instances of audio content.

The better quality audio source content replaces the lower quality audio content recorded by the spectator. The resulting source audio/remote video media content provides a user's personalized memento of the event with clean studio-clear sound quality audio.
