Abstract: A method of managing a user-defined patient list in a healthcare setting is provided that includes retrieving a plurality of patients from a repository to create a master patient list; retrieving a machine-generated patient list from a first memory, the machine-generated patient list being derived from the master patient list; and retrieving the user-defined patient list from a second memory, the user-defined patient list being derived from the machine-generated patient list. The method also includes comparing the machine-generated patient list to the user-defined patient list and modifying a patient entry on the user-defined patient list in response to the comparison in order to reconcile a difference between the machine-generated patient list and the user defined patient list.

Abstract: A method of managing asynchronous patient data in a healthcare setting including entering into an asynchronous operation between a client device and a patient health record repository, requesting access to a portion of a source patient health record, opening a temporary, unresolved patient health record, and modifying and saving the temporary record. The method also includes establishing a subsequent synchronous connection, submitting the temporary record to the repository for resolution, determining whether the temporary record can be matched to the source record in the repository, creating a new source record for the temporary record and deleting the temporary record if a match for the temporary record is not found in the repository. The method also includes updating the source record, and deleting the temporary record.

Abstract: A wireless handheld device (WHD) is provided and capable of providing a real-time, persistent, live wireless connection with functionality provided by, and/or information maintained or stored within a health care information system (HCIS). A real-time, live wireless connection with the HCIS allows the user to perform many or all of the same tasks as the users of workstation-based client applications with full access to the HCIS, including modifying information within the HCIS (and a patient health record repository(ies) located therein), and accessing functionality (health care applications) provided by the HCIS.

Abstract: A method of automatically generating and distributing personalized data reports via an electronic network comprising the steps of defining a set of report groups, creating a report template, and associating the report template with appropriate report groups of the set of report groups. The method also includes creating a security class and associating with the security class report groups of the set of report groups accessible to the security class. The method further includes providing the user with access to the report template based upon the security level, checking a user's security level and displaying the appropriate templates based on the check, creating a report output based on the report template, and providing the report output via the electronic network.

Abstract: A method of automatically generating a secure output file that comprises the steps of generating a first random character, generating a second random character, and creating a file path name using the first and second random characters. The method also includes the steps of storing the file path name in a memory, generating a report output and saving the report output to the file path name, and displaying a link to the report output on a user's personalized web page.
