  • Publication number: 20230055077
Abstract: An apparatus includes a lithium niobate (LN) layer, and a planar electro-optical modulator having at least one hybrid optical core segment formed of a portion of the LN layer and an optical guiding rib. The optical guiding rib may be located in a top silicon layer of a silicon photonics (SiP) chip, to which a thin-film LN chip is flip-chip mounted, and may be coupled to optical waveguide cores in a first silicon core layer of the SiP chip. One or more drive electrodes are disposed between a substrate of the SiP chip and the LN layer. In some embodiments hybrid optical core segments may include silicon nitride core segments and may form an MZM configured to be differentially or dual-differentially driven.

  • Publication number: 20130022795
Abstract: A method for printing a high resolution image onto natural fabric such as cotton or cotton blends is provided. The method comprises applying a base coat composition comprising an organosilicon compound to a fabric, drying the fabric to obtain a base coat, and printing a high-resolution image on the base coated fabric. In one embodiment, the printing comprises sublimation printing. A fabric comprising a base coat, and a high resolution printed image, wherein the base coat comprises an intermediary layer between the fabric layer and the high-resolution printed image is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20080087116
Abstract: An acceleration measurement system is provided. The system includes at least first and second accelerometers. The first accelerometer has an electrical characteristic that varies with acceleration in a first axis. The second accelerometer also has an electrical characteristic that varies with acceleration in the same first axis. A controller is operably coupled to the first and second accelerometers and provides an acceleration output that is based on the electrical characteristics of the first and second accelerometers. In one aspect, the acceleration system is in the form of a substrate-like sensor.
