Abstract: An anti-lock braking system for an autonomous vehicle includes a memory storing instructions relating to braking control, a detection system for detecting an event necessitating braking of the autonomous vehicle, and a controller. The controller is in communication with the detection system and is configured to execute the instructions to receive detection and identification of the event, determine a vehicle deceleration rate based on the identification of the event, and operate the anti-lock braking system in a selected mode of a plurality of different predetermined operating modes based on the vehicle deceleration rate.
