  • Publication number: 20240022054
Abstract: A marine power conduit interface assembly has a slide slidable within a housing. Sliding of the slide in the housing locks the assembly in a socket of an energy generator. The slide has a leg extending axially within a groove formed in the inner surface of the bore of the housing, connected to a ring with a flange which extends radially outwards from an outer surface of the housing. The ring is connected to the leg by a radially inwardly extending finger passing through a slot in the housing. The lock can be activated and deactivated by sliding of the slide in the housing.

  • Publication number: 20230110686
Abstract: A subsea line clamp assembly (1) has a body (10) having an axis and a clamp member (50), assembled in segments around a subsea line (3), and tethered to a subsea anchor (5). The clamp member (50) is movably located within the body (10). The inner surface of the body (10) and the outer surface of the clamp member (50) have respective tapered portions as part of teeth (32, 72) arranged to inter-engage. Adjacent teeth (32, 72) may be separated by axis-parallel portions. The clamping force on the subsea line (30) can be maintained at a consistent clamping force throughout the service life of the subsea line (3), despite the actions of creep and compression acting to reduce the outer diameter of the line (3).

  • Patent number: 11104095
Abstract: A creep resistant material comprises a core layer (12) of rigid polyurethane with a first tensile reinforcement layer (17) applied on one surface and a second tensile reinforcement layer (17) applied on the other opposed surface of the core layer, the entire respective first and second tensile reinforcement layers being in contact with the first and second surface of the core layer of the material.

  • Patent number: 11072978
Abstract: An apparatus (1) for restricting the bending of a tubular member underwater comprises a plurality of interlocking modules each formed from a first half shell component (2) circumferentially displaced from a second half-shell component (3), wherein the first half shell component comprises one or more projections (19) extending from a side edge (18) thereof and the second half shell component comprises one or more grooves (21) in a side edge (18) thereof, the projections and grooves being angled to the side edges of the first and second half shell components, the arrangement being such that when assembled together each of the one of more projections of the first half shell component are inter-engaged with a corresponding groove of the second half shell component to secure the two half shells together.

  • Patent number: 10962035
Abstract: A generally cylindrical element 10 that is adapted for immersion in water is described. The generally cylindrical element 10 has an outer surface 11 that is in contact with the water in use. The outer surface 11 has at least two rows of repeating shapes 20, for example hexagons 20, provided on the surface 11, where each row of repeating shapes 20 is separated from the other or the adjacent row(s) by a groove arrangement 30. Each shape 20 within a row is separated from the, or each, adjacent shape 20 by at least one groove 30. This configuration of the surface 11 reduces Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) and/or drag that may act upon the generally cylindrical element 10 when it is immersed in a body of water.

  • Publication number: 20100057168
Abstract: A body part heating system (10) comprises a temperature sensor (28) adapted to measure the temperature of a body part, and a heater (34a, 34b) in communication with the temperature sensor (28). The heater (34a, 34b) is adapted to be activated to heat the body part in response to the temperature sensor (28) sensing the occurrence of a predefined thermal event such as a temperature drop below a predefined level. The heating system (10) may be in the form of a glove and may be used to treat the symptoms of Raynaud's phenomenon.
