  • Publication number: 20230273661
Abstract: A power transmission system is disclosed comprising a centralized power supply system having multiple DC power supply units and a controller coupled to the DC power supplies. Remote devices are coupled to the centralized power system via a power cable. In some embodiments, each of the DC power supply units transmit signal information to respective ones of the remote devices, and the remote devices may be configured to forward the signal information to the controller. In some embodiments, the controller module automatically allocates individual ones of the DC power supply units to the respective ones of the remote devices based on the forwarded signal information.

  • Publication number: 20230276592
Abstract: A power boost retrofit system for a power communications system having an existing base overvoltage protection unit, where one end of DC power cables is connected to remote radio heads (RRHs). The power conversion retrofit system includes one or more pluggable DC voltage conversion (DCVC) modules containing DC-DC converters are inserted into respective slots in a front of an enclosure of the base overvoltage protection unit. A connectivity and control (CC) module is inserted into a rear of the enclosure to mate with the DCVC modules and to connect with an opposite end of DC power cables.

  • Patent number: 10812664
Abstract: A power transmission system includes a voltage measurement device located on a tower or rooftop for measuring a voltage (VRRH) at a top end of a DC cable connected to a remote radio head (RRH). A voltage control system receives an input voltage (VIN) from a DC power supply and generates an output voltage (VOUT) at a base end of the DC cable. The voltage control system calculates a voltage drop on the DC cable based on the VRRH measurement and then adds different voltage steps to VIN so VOUT compensates for the voltage drop. Calculating the voltage drop allows the PTS to more efficiently supply power to RRHs without having to increase the size of DC power cables.
