  • Patent number: 5545693
Abstract: Blends of a perfluoroelastomer with a nitrile containing polyperfluoroether are described. The addition of the polyperfluoroether often improves the properties, processability and/or low temperature properties of the perfluoroelastomer. It is preferred if the perfluoroelastomer contains nitrile groups so that the two polymers can cocure, thereby retarding separation of the polyperfluoroether from the perfluoroelastomer.

  • Patent number: 5527861
Abstract: Nitrile containing perfluoroelastomers are cured by a combination of a peroxide, a coagent, and a catalyst which causes crosslinks to form using the nitrile groups. The method is relatively fast and economical, and gives vulcanizates which have excellent high temperature properties. Triphenyltin hydroxide is an exceptionally good catalyst for the formation of crosslinks from nitrile groups in perfluoroelastomers.

  • Patent number: 5168001
Abstract: Pellicles having films bearing at least one coating of perfluoropolymers as an antireflective surface, the perfluoropolymers comprising a low molecular weight perfluoropolymer having randomly copolymerized units of tetrafluoroethylene, perfluoro (alkyl vinyl) ether and a cure site monomer, the cure site monomer selected from the group consisting of vinylidene fluoride, perfluoro-(8-cyano-5-methyl-3,6-dioxa-1-octene), bromotetrafluorobutene or perfluoro (2-phenoxypropyl vinyl ether). Pellicles of this type are dust defocusing covers for photomasks and reticles used to project patterns onto light sensitive substrates such as photoresist-coated semiconductor wafers which are used in the manufacture of integrated circuits.
