Abstract: A system to manage images that are representative of network data packets in a decentralized file system based on image metadata stored in a blockchain network is disclosed. The system accesses an image that is generated based on data packets and generates a hash value for the image based on timestamp associated with the data packets and a compression level used to compress the data packets. The system generates a content identifier (CID) for the image based on the content of the data packets. The system generates metadata in a specific structured data format based on the generated hash value and the CID. The system associates the generated metadata to the image, communicates the metadata to a blockchain network for referencing the image, and communicates the image to a decentralized file system.
