  • Publication number: 20210254914
Abstract: A break open rifle having a barrel assembly with a breech end for receiving a propellant charge—primer cap assembly, a muzzle end, and a carve out, slot, indentation, cavity, or recess, which receives a portion of the propellant charge—primer cap assembly extending beyond the rim of the propellant charge. A ramp section of the recess, adjacent to the first end of the barrel assembly, is included to facilitate receiving the extension of the primer cap in a rotational fashion as the break open rifle is configured from the OPEN position to the CLOSED position. The recess and accompanying ramp section are configured to receive that portion of the primer cap which extends from the flush surface of the propellant charge rim, independent whether the configuration includes a barrel extension or not. The ramp is configured to receive the extended portion of the primer cap as the loaded rifle is placed in the CLOSED position to prepare for firing.

  • Patent number: 11029125
Abstract: A forend stock for a break open firearm having a housing lug, the housing lug being attached into the lower side of the barrel assembly. A coupler is secured onto the housing lug. At the coupler end opposite the housing lug rod, there is a cylindrical area, and between the two coupler ends, another finished area forming an extended flange. The extended flange has a larger diameter than the cylindrical ends of the coupler. A latch bolt is secured to the forend stock by a cover plate. The latch bolt is topped at one of its ends with a sharp bevel. At its other end, it has a cylindrical post to support a pressure spring, and is held in a longitudinal channel or recess, and arranged such that a user can access an actuator knob for manual handling of the latch bolt. The cover plate assembly has an aperture which the ledges of an extended protrusion of the latch bolt fit within, defining the forward and backward travel limits that the bolt can go in a direction parallel to the axial direction of the barrel.

  • Patent number: 9903676
Abstract: An ammunition system and associated ammunition for firearms, particularly for muzzleloader firearms, having a predetermined amount of propellant charge housed in a casing, and a separate projectile having a sabot. The casing has a cap sealing the casing muzzle end such that the cap and the sabot provide seals to trap propellant gases within the barrel behind the projectile upon firing. The cap top end and sabot bottom end interlock in mechanical communication with one another upon firing allowing the projectile exiting the barrel muzzle end to be responsive to the barrel rifling. The barrel breech end has a chamber bushing for receiving the casing and a tapered muzzle end to prohibit the projectile from entering the casing.

  • Patent number: 9546844
Abstract: A muzzleloader firearm is converted into a firearm adapted for firing an arrow. The stock assembly of the muzzleloader firearm is retained while the barrel assembly is completely removed, and replaced by an arrow barrel assembly. The arrow barrel assembly has a stock assembly attachment for releasably engaging the stock assembly of the muzzleloader firearm, and a barrel attachment for engaging an inner barrel tube that holds an arrow shaft with a hollow interior and propels the arrow out of the firearm when a blank cap is activated, and an outer shroud to protect the inner barrel tube and enclose a loaded arrow. The arrow barrel assembly rearward end has formed recesses for receiving the blank cap and aligning the rim of the blank cap with the firing pin of the muzzleloader stock assembly.

  • Patent number: 9121661
Abstract: An inline hammerless percussion firing system for muzzleloader firearms with a striker having a firing pin and a striker spring to linearly drive the firing pin forward. A cocking button compresses the striker spring. A pivoting retainer acts against a nut connected to the cocking button to hold the cocking button forward and keep the striker spring compressed. A sear acts to prevent the striker from moving forward until released by a two piece trigger system in which a trigger and trigger edge pivot relative to each other with lost motion before releasing the sear, allowing the trigger edge to move out from below a safety notch in the sear, where firing is prevented, to below a firing notch in the sear to prevent accidental discharges from impact. The cocking button can be released by an uncocking button. Releasing a barrel catch resets firearm to the initial safe position.
