  • Patent number: 10036588
Abstract: Door alarm systems, methods, and apparatus are disclosed. A door alarm system may monitor a door of a refrigeration device and detect a failed attempt at closing the door. In response to detecting the failed attempt, the door alarm system may generate a notification of the detected, failed attempt so that remedial action may be taken.

  • Patent number: 9970229
Abstract: A garage door opener system includes a motor, a sensor, a controller, and a network interface. The motor is coupled to the garage door and is configured to selectively raise the garage door and lower the garage door. The sensor is configured to monitor the doorway and distinguish between an object entering and exiting the doorway. The controller is coupled to the motor and is configured to generate signals that cause the motor to lower the garage door into a closed position based on signals received from the sensor and whether the object is entering or exiting the doorway. The network interface is configured to operatively couple the controller to a server via a network. The network interface further provides the server with information obtained from the sensor and receives a table comprising durations that the server customized based upon the received information.

  • Publication number: 20180048647
Abstract: Systems and methods for preventing fraud are disclosed. The system includes, for example, a front end device that is operatively coupled to a back end device. The front end device is configured to generate a first dynamic device identification based on dynamic device characteristics of the front end device. The back end device is configured to generate a second dynamic device identification based on the dynamic device characteristics of the front end device to authenticate the front end device. The front end device can also authenticate itself through an Internet of Things (IoT) device that has a trusted connection to the back end device.

  • Publication number: 20160241439
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are disclosed that process requested changes to operating parameters of an Internet of Things (IoT) device. In some embodiments, a client computing device originates a requested change to the IoT device. An IoT services system may process the requested change and determine whether an early indication of success is appropriate. If an early indication of success is appropriate, the IoT services system, prior to the requested change being applied to the IoT device, transmits to the client computing device a first message that provides an indication of success for the requested change.

  • Patent number: 6889045
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus that enables handover of a mobile station between a cellular network and a wireless network without control intervention from the cellular network and independent of employed air interface technology. The signaling and control of a switch, for example SS7 messaging, is not required to achieve the handovers implemented by the present invention. In particular, a call is connected (504) between a mobile station (202) and a remote station (204) through a media gateway (210). The media gateway is connected to the mobile station via a first connection line and to the remote station via a second connection line. Next, a communication directed to a predetermined number by the mobile station is received (520) or, in the alternative, a connection signal that includes a call header is sent to the mobile station. A third connection line between the media gateway and the mobile station is then established (524).

The signaling and control of a switch, for example SS7 messaging, is not required to achieve the handovers implemented by the present invention. In particular, the present invention is a wireless communication device (202) comprising a first transceiver circuit (604), a second transceiver circuit (606) and a main circuit (608, 610, 612, 614) coupled to the first and second transceiver circuits. The first transceiver circuit communicates with a first network within a first area of coverage, and the second transceiver circuit communicates with a second network within a second area of coverage.

The signaling and control of a switch, for example SS7 messaging, is not required to achieve the handovers implemented by the present invention. In particular, a call is connected (508) between a mobile station (202) and a remote station (204) through a media gateway (210). The media gateway is connected to the mobile station via a first connection line and to the remote station via a second connection line. When the mobile station has entered (514, 516) a transition area (302), a third connection line is established (518) between the media gateway and the mobile station.
