  • Publication number: 20170064366
Abstract: A video distribution technique permits individual subscribers to pay a nominal fee to follow celebrities and receive videos directly therefrom. An individual may qualify as a broadcaster by having a sufficient fan base as measured by the number of followers in existing social media services. The broadcaster uploads video to a central processing service where it may be transcoded to a convenient communication protocol for distribution. In addition, a warning message is sent to all subscribers of a particular broadcaster to indicate the impending arrival of an incoming video from the broadcaster. In one embodiment, the user will not receive any video unless they transmit an acknowledgement to the push text notification. In an alternative embodiment, the subscriber will receive all videos automatically unless they respond to the push text notification to opt out of receiving the video.

The broadcaster uploads video to a central processing service where it may be transcoded to a convenient communication protocol for distribution. In addition, a warning message is sent to all subscribers of a particular broadcaster to indicate the impending arrival of an incoming video from the broadcaster. In one embodiment, the broadcaster can limit distribution of the video based on a geographic restriction. The broadcaster provides the restriction data and the system filters the subscriber list to include subscribers that meet the geographic requirements, such as residence in a particular area or current presence within a certain area. Messages sent only the targeted subscribers.

  • Publication number: 20170064357
Abstract: A video distribution technique permits individual users to view a streaming video of an event if they are located outside an exclusion zone surrounding the location of the event. The exclusion zone may be a distance (e.g., 50 miles) or a geographical zone (e.g., a city or county border). When a user attempts to subscribe to the streaming viewing, the system determines the location of the user. If the user is within the exclusion zone, the request for streaming is rejected. If the user location is outside the exclusion zone, the request for streaming is accepted. User location can be determined using global positioning system (GPS) data, cell-assisted location data, WiFi location data or the like.

  • Publication number: 20170064399
Abstract: A message distribution technique permits individual subscribers to receive text messages from a broadcaster. The broadcaster uploads a text message to a central processing service where it may be redirected to a chat room associated with the broadcaster, In addition, a push notification is sent to ail subscribers of a particular broadcaster to indicate the delivery of a text message from the broadcaster. The push notification may also contain a link that, when activated by the subscriber, initiates an associated software application program that navigates the subscriber directly to the chat room to view the text message. The text message may be generated and uploaded by the broadcaster without having to activate the software application. The push notification may also be received by subscribers without having to activate the software program. In one embodiment, the broadcaster can limit distribution of the video based on a geographic restriction.

  • Publication number: 20170048470
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a solution to carry out High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging based on dynamic well capacity adjustment without incurring additional spatial-temporal noise and consequent Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) dips caused by the sub-threshold operation of a CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) reset transistor in a pixel cell. Embodiments of the disclosure employ realizations of transistors other than CMOS, e.g. Tunnel Field-Effect Transistors (TFETs), featuring asymmetric conduction between two of its terminals, where asymmetric conduction means that current can only flow in one direction between those two terminals. In some embodiments, one of such realizations plays the role of the pixel reset transistor in order to exploit the asymmetric conduction to perform dynamic well capacity adjustment. As a result, the sources of spatial-temporal noise arising from the sub-threshold operation of the pixel reset transistor in CMOS implementations are removed.

  • Patent number: 9528048
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing hierarchically ordered structures of inorganic phosphate particles, homogeneously deposited on the surface of a phyllosilicate, which is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: a) obtaining an acid solution of precursor compounds of an inorganic phosphate; b) preparing a dispersion of particles of a phyllosilicate in aqueous medium and acidifying the phyllosilicate dispersion by adding at least one acid, thereby obtaining an acid dispersion; c) mixing the acid solution obtained in step a) with the dispersion obtained in step b); and d), with stirring, adding a base to the mixture obtained in step c) until the required pH value for precipitating the corresponding inorganic phosphate on the phyllosilicate particles has been achieved, resulting in a hierarchically ordered structure of homogeneously distributed submicrometric or nanometric inorganic phosphate particles supported on the phyllosilicate surface.

  • Patent number: 9277410
Abstract: A method and a device for optimizing the assignation of network activity of a cellular communications network to land areas in a simple and accurate way. This technique allows representing the activity of a cellular network on a set of tiles in a grid covering a certain land area, instead of representing it associated to antenna cells that might or might not overlap. The activity dispersed and assigned to non-overlapping grid tiles is much simpler and clearer to understand and allows visualizing how the network activity is distributed over the space and how it varies along time allowing therefore an efficient network design and management optimization.

  • Patent number: 8942481
Abstract: Disclose embodiments include an image processor for feature detection comprising a single non-planar chip containing a plurality of integrated sensing and processing resources across two or more layers adapted to capture image frames and extract image features. In a particular embodiment, the non-planar chip is a three dimensional CMOS integrated circuit (3D CMOS IC) with vertical distribution of sensing and processing resources across two or more vertical integrated circuit layers. The 3D CMOS IC implements two or more feature detectors in a single chip by reusing a plurality of circuits employed for gradient and keypoint detection. Feature detectors include a scale invariant feature transform detector (SIFT), a Harris-based feature detector, and a Hessian-based feature detector.
