  • Publication number: 20110171021
Abstract: An embodiment of a ceiling fan assembly has a motor rotatably mounted to a shaft and adapted to be mounted to an extent of a substantially planar support surface. A first set of fan blades are connected to the motor and a second set of fan blades are connected to the shaft a predetermined distance below the extent of the substantially planar support surface, the motor, and the first set of fan blades. A method of circulating air comprises driving the motor to drive the first set of blades in a first rotational direction about the shaft. Simultaneously, responsive to the air flow generated by the rotation of the first set of blades in a first rotational direction, the second set of blades rotates in a second rotational direction about the shaft, opposite the first rotational direction.
