  • Publication number: 20080311050
Abstract: A method for achieving a retrievable hair restyling is described. Here a composition is applied to the hair, said composition containing at least one first active ingredient or active ingredient complex which can provide a shape memory effect by itself or in combination with other substances after being applied to the hair and after the performance of the treatment of the hair according to the invention. The composition additionally contains at least one second active ingredient, namely a hydrophobic substance with a water solubility of ?5 percent by weight at 20° C. The hair is arranged into a given (permanent) shape and said permanent shape is then fixed by inducing a chemical or physical modification of the applied active ingredients, wherein after a wanted or unwanted deformation of the shape memory, the original shape memory can be restored by means of a physical stimulation. In addition to the permanent hairstyle, a second (temporary) shape can be impressed.

  • Patent number: 7306790
Abstract: The object of the invention is a hair-treatment agent in the form of a two-phase gel, containing comminuted particles of a firm and shape-retaining gel based on a carrageenan-containing aqueous base in a fluid polyol matrix. The gel is a clear product with properties of a hair wax or hair cream and it can be dispensed, sprayed or foamed from a suitable container by means of a propellant.

  • Publication number: 20070275020
Abstract: A method for producing a retrievable hairstyling using shape memory polymers is described. Here a composition is applied to the hair, said composition containing a shape memory polymer P or a macromer M that can be cross-linked to a shape memory polymer, the hair is arranged into a given (permanent) shape and said permanent shape is then fixed by means of chemical cross-linking of the macromer M under the formation of a shape memory polymer and/or under physical cross-linking of the polymer P. The polymer P and the macromer M are formed from block copolymers, each of which comprises at least a first block and at least two additional blocks. The first block is a polyol and is selected from polyethers, dimerdiol and derivatives derived therefrom, as well as from polyesters of dicarboxylic acids with diols. The additional blocks are polyesters of hydroxycarboxylic acids or their lactones.

  • Publication number: 20050244353
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for achieving a recallable hair deformation. A composition is applied onto hair, comprising at least one first active principle or active complex, which, alone or in combination with further compounds, is able, after application to the hair and after carrying out the treatment of hair in accordance with the present invention, to provide a shape memory effect. The composition comprises at least one second active principle, which is a cationic agent. The hair is brought into a defined (permanent) shape and the permanent shape is subsequently fixed by means of inducing a chemical or physical change of the applied agents, wherein after a desired or undesired deformation, the memory shape of the initial memory shape may be recovered by means of a physical stimulation. In addition to the permanent hairdo, a second (temporary) shape can be impressed.

  • Publication number: 20050226838
Abstract: The hair treatment composition contains preferably from 0.01 to 20 percent by weight of at least one N-hydroxyalkyl-O-benzyl chitosan and from 0.01 to 20 percent by weight of at least one other hair treatment effective ingredient. The at least one N-hydroxyalkyl-O-benzyl chitosan has at least one hydroxylalkyl group, preferably a hydroxyethyl, hydroxypropyl or hydroxybutyl group, and has from 2 to 20 carbon atoms. Various methods of treating hair with hair treatment compositions containing one or more of the N-hydroxyalkyl-O-benzyl chitosans are described.

  • Patent number: 6479057
Abstract: The hair treatment method includes applying to hair an effective amount of aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous-alcoholic hair treatment composition containing from 0.05 to 15 percent by weight of at least one as-yet-uncrosslinked hydrolytic precondensation product for forming an inorganic-organic hybrid polymer and optionally at least one film-forming hair-setting polymer, and subsequently crosslinking the as-yet-uncrosslinked hydrolytic precondensation product while the as-yet-uncrosslinked hydrolytic precondensation product remains on the hair to form the inorganic-organic hybrid polymer in order to provide long-lasting good hair setting. The hydrolytic precondensation product has an Si—O—Si network and is made by hydrolytically condensing at least one organosilane having crosslinkable groups with or without a network-modifying compound for modifying the crosslinking of the crosslinkable groups.

  • Publication number: 20020076387
Abstract: The solid, form-stable gel for hair treatment contains an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic base; from 0.5 to less than 2 percent by weight of a carrageenan or a mixture of carrageenans; at least one carrageenan-amount-reducing additive selected from the group consisting of hair fixing polymers, amphiphilic associative thickeners, monovalent alcohols having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, polyvalent alcohols having 2 to 5 carbon atoms and water-soluble salts that release calcium and/or potassium ions in aqueous media. The carrageenan or mixture of carrageenans and the at least one additive are contained in the gel in respective amounts so that the gel is solid and form-stable to a compressive force of at least 0.15 N applied at 20° C. and 65% relative humidity by means of a cylindrical piston that is depressed at a rate of 0.5 mm/s until a compression depth of 1 mm is reached after which the piston is removed at a rate of 0.5 mm/s.
