  • Patent number: 5056934
Abstract: A reusable bag for storing items. The bag has a band located over at least part of the bag's outer surface. The band is detachably secured to the bag with an adhesive. To reseal the bag after opening, the band is partially lifted away from the bag. A space is thus created between the band and the bag into which the twisted end of the bag may be inserted and secured. The band contains adhesive on only a center region of the band to permit the band to be easily separated from the bag and so that user contact with the band does leave adhesive on the user's fingers or wear adhesive from the band.

  • Patent number: 4915292
Abstract: A microwave container (2) including a folded body forming a box having first, second, third and fourth sides (4, 26, 6, 28). The sides have first, second, third and fourth side edges, respectively, defining an end (14). A flap (10, 30, 32, 38) extends from each side and is attached at the edge of each side. A sealing region (34) is defined at the intersection of the first flap (10) and each of the adjacent flaps (30, 32) at the corners of the box formed by the first side (4). A notch (40) is formed between the first flap and each of the adjacent flaps before folding. A common seam (44) runs a chosen distance (43) from the corners (18, 20) such that when the first flap and the adjacent side flaps are folded, holes (36) normally formed at the corners are spaced therefrom. The remaining flap (38), opposite the first flap, is folded to cover and seal these holes.

  • Patent number: 4687104
Abstract: A folded carton includes base and top portions. The base portion has a bottom, sides and web corners to the base portion can hold liquid. The sides and web corners are temporarily maintained in the folded condition while the carton is being filled with a product by using tabs and notches in the sides and web corners. The top portion includes a top, side flaps and a front flap. Portions of the carton material are coated with a waterproof, heat sealable coating. After filling, the flaps are sealed to the sides using heat. A top flap, including a lifting tab, is creased by partially scoring outer and inner surfaces of the top and the front flap to create a frangible tear path allowing the top flap to be lifted up away from the top portion, thus exposing the contents. A portion of the front side opposite the lifting tap is recessed to aid lifting of the tab.
