  • Publication number: 20240050033
Abstract: A perfusion device is for evaluating the risk of thrombotic and hemorrhagic diseases linked to blood coagulation processes. In particular, a cartridge is for conducting a dynamic “ex-vivo” evaluation method of the coagulation process in a subjects blood sample, including at least one perfusion chamber, a well for loading the blood sample and reagents, an inclined ascending microchannel connecting the well to a first end of the perfusion chamber and an inclined descending microchannel placed at a second end. Preferably at least one perfusion chamber includes two half-channels of different width, placed in series or in parallel, or the cartridge includes at least two perfusion chambers placed in parallel. At least two of the perfusion chambers have a different width.

  • Patent number: 11346719
Abstract: A Fourier-transform hyperspectral imaging system may include an optical imaging system configured to produce an image of an object, and an adjustable birefringent common-path interferometer module comprising a movable birefringent element and configured to produce interfering replicas of an input radiation which are delayed from each other by a phase delay adjustable by the moving birefringent element. The interferometer module may be configured to produce collinear replicas for entering optical rays parallel to said optical axis. The hyperspectral imaging system further comprises a two-dimensional light detector configured to receive the replicas and provide digital images of the object depending on said adjustable phase delay. The system also includes an analysis device configured to perform a Fourier Transform of the digital images to obtain a hyperspectral representation of the object.

  • Patent number: 9182284
Abstract: A phase-locked delay device, including: an input port configured to receive an input electromagnetic radiation pulse; said input pulse being to be propagated along a propagation direction and having a first linear polarization different from both a first direction, which is orthogonal to the propagation direction, and a second direction, which is orthogonal to the first direction and the propagation direction; an adjustable Babinet-Soleil module optically coupled to said input port, having a first polarization direction parallel to said first direction. The adjustable Babinet-Soleil module is structured to: provide from the input pulse a first pulse polarized along the first direction and a second pulse collinear to said first pulse and polarized along the second direction, and introduce an adjustable group delay between the first pulse and the second pulse ranging from a minim value ?Tm and a maximum value ?TM; the maximum value ?TM being a value greater than 10 fs.

  • Patent number: 6066249
Abstract: A method for calibrating an instrument for the analysis of blood gases which possesses ion-sensitive electrodes and gas-sensitive electrodes and is used for the determination, in a biological fluid, of the concentration of electrolytes and metabolites in solution, and of the pH, pO.sub.2 and pCO.sub.2, the said calibration being carried out with at least one buffered solution containing O.sub.2, a known or tonometer-measured amount of CO.sub.2 and known concentrations of the electrolytes and metabolites to be determined, in which calibration the pO.sub.2 titer is determined beforehand using atmospheric oxygen as reference.

  • Patent number: 5227305
Abstract: A formulation of combined-composition electrolyte and pH buffers for use as standardization solutions in analyzers for clinical chemistry which simultaneously use more than one ion-selective electrode plus more than one standard solution. Each ion is present in the standard solution in stoichiometric quantity such as to compensate the effect due to the incomplete dissociation of the salt used, and to obtain an activity coefficient and liquid junction potential such as to reduce the error generated by the use of standardization solutions which do not take account of these quantities. Buffer solutions are described having a pH within the range of 6-8 and an electrolyte compositions (Na.sup.+, K.sup.+, Ca.sup.+ and Cl.sup.-) which reflect the composition of the biological liquid to be analyzed, namely whole blood, plasma or serum, in equilibrium with different partial pressures of oxygen and CO.sub.2.

  • Patent number: 4870024
Abstract: A method for determining the concentrations of total calcium and at least one monovalent ion in a sample includes the steps of mixing the sample with a diluent that has a pH within the range pH 6.5 to 7.0 and includes 2-amino-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol phosphate and is free of the monovalent ion. An aliquot of the diluted sample is concurrently contacted with a calcium-specific ion selective electrode and an ion selective electrode specifically responsive to the monovalent ion, the response of the calcium-specific ion selective electrode is measured as an indication of the concentration of total calcium in the sample, and the response of the monovalent ion specific ion selective electrode is measured as an indication of the concentration of the monovalent ion in the sample.

  • Patent number: 4618587
Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining calcium ion content of serum which comprises calibrating a potentiometric analytical system with calcium standards having a solution containing both TRIS and BisTRIS at a pH of 7.5. The serum sample is diluted with a silicone oil/water emulsion which may further contain a protein complexing agent such as iron, zinc, cadmium, nickel or copper. Measurement is then carried out on the diluted serum sample.
