Abstract: A rotor blade comprises a blade portion, a root portion (30) connected with, and extending from, the blade portion, the root portion (30) having an annular cross section which defines first and second root surfaces, and a plurality of discrete root fittings (31) connected with respective portions of the root portion (30), and adapted for attachment to a blade mounting. Each root fitting comprises an elongate body member (31) which extends from a free end of the root portion (30) towards the blade portion, which defines first and second bonding surfaces, adhesively bonded to the first and second root surfaces respectively, and which includes means for attachment to a blade mounting.
