  • Patent number: 7776812
Abstract: The present invention provides a cleaning composition comprising a multiple emulsion system, wherein said emulsion system comprises at least two active ingredients separated in the emulsion system by an oily or aqueous phase. Also described is the use of such multiple emulsion systems as cleaning compositions, and a method of cleaning a surface using multiple emulsion systems.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 2004
Date of Patent: August 17, 2010
    Assignee: Reckitt Benckiser (UK) Limited
Inventors: Angus Lang, Malcolm Tom McKechnie
  • Patent number: 7378380
Abstract: A dilutable cleaning composition comprises a pH-elevating component and a pH-lowering component, the composition being such that when it is mixed with water the pH-elevating component dissolves or disperses in the water thereby elevating the pH of the water to at least 8.5 and subsequently the pH-lowering component dissolves or disperses in the water, thereby lowering the pH of the water from at least 8.5 to not more than 4. When the water is at the raised pH, the cleaning composition is effective in removing proteinaceous or fatty soiling, and when the composition is at the lowered pH, the composition is effective at removing alkaline waste materials such as limescale. The cleaning composition is particularly suitable for use as a lavatory or hard surface cleaner.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 16, 2007
Date of Patent: May 27, 2008
    Assignee: Reckitt Benckiser (UK) Limited
Inventors: Adrian Blagg, Angus Lang, Malcolm Tom McKechnie

  • Patent number: 7018644
Abstract: A non-aqueous, single phase, non-thickened liquid air freshener or insecticidal composition having a flashpoint of greater than about 62° C. is provided. The composition contains: a) a polar solvent; b) up to about 10 wt % of a non-polar aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent; and c) a fragrance or an insecticide. The composition may be dispensed from a device having a chamber with at least one wall made of a material which enables a vapor of the composition to diffuse out of the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20040072710
Abstract: A cleaning composition contains the components for a pH step reaction, held apart or in stasis in needed, until they are delivered to the locus to be cleaned. The composition may include standard cleaning agents such as surfactants. The composition undergoes a change in pH at the locus, promoting effective cleaning.
