  • Publication number: 20240420251
Abstract: A flexible advance system allows users to request and receive advances. The flexible advance system processes advances such that short-term advances are repaid through a wage deduction from the user's next regularly scheduled compensation period. The flexible advance system provides a user interface that allows users to request to receive compensation for a portion of time worked. Responsive to a request, an entry in a database associated with the user is accessed to determine a total amount of available advance compensation available for request by the user. In response to the requested amount being less than the total amount of available advance compensation, a transfer of compensation is executed to an account of the user. The flexible advance system also modifies the entry in the database by subtracting the compensated amount of time from the total amount of uncompensated time.

  • Publication number: 20240377378
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for determining the amount of sorbents in a soil sample. A known amount of primary tracer can be applied to the sample, causing the primary tracer to start partitioning on the sorbent material. The amount of primary tracer which has partitioned onto the sorbents in this manner will correlate with the amount of sorbents present in the sample, and by measuring this amount of partitioned primary tracer, one can calculate the amount of sorbents present. These methods can be performed on ex situ samples taken from a remedial site or on an in situ sample via the application and measurement methodologies being field-deployable.

  • Patent number: 11666360
Abstract: A glaucoma treatment system includes a glaucoma drainage device having a flexible tube with distal and proximal ends, and an inserter with a filament that extends beyond the distal end of a rigid elongate member (e.g., rod or inserter tube). The filament is configured to detachably couple a distal portion of the drainage device tube to the elongate member of the inserter. The filament may extend through a wall of the distal portion of the drainage device tube. The filament and elongate member of the inserter can be configured for relative movement to detach the drainage device tube from the inserter. The elongate member can define an internal channel, and the filament can be configured for axial movement in this channel so that the filament may move toward the proximal end of the elongate member to detach the drainage device tube from the inserter. Other tools are described and claimed.
