  • Publication number: 20240044023
Abstract: Zero-gap electrochemical cell architectures that employ molecular-level capillary and/or diffusion and/or osmotic effects to minimize the need for macroscopic external management of the electrochemical cell. Preferably, these effects intrinsically respond to the electrochemical cell conditions, making them self-regulating. In one example is disclosed an electro-synthetic or electro-energy cell, and method of operation, including a reservoir for containing a liquid electrolyte, a first gas diffusion electrode positioned outside of the reservoir, and a second electrode positioned outside of the reservoir. A porous capillary spacer is positioned between the first gas diffusion electrode and the second electrode, the porous capillary spacer having an end that extends into the reservoir. Preferably, the porous capillary spacer is able to fill itself with the liquid electrolyte when the end of the porous capillary spacer is in liquid contact with the liquid electrolyte in the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 11893097
Abstract: Various embodiments for a system to utilize user's location pattern as an authentication parameter are disclosed. An embodiment operates by retrieving a location history of a user based on past locations of a user equipment (UE) device at various times and traffic data associated with the location history. A request to access a protected application is received and a present location of the UE device at a time associated with the request is determined. A locational pattern is generated based on both the location history of the user and the traffic data. The present location of the UE device is compared with the locational pattern, and it is determined that a level of authentication necessary to grant access to the protected application is satisfied based on both the comparing and a determination that the present location falls within the locational range generated based on the traffic data.

  • Patent number: 11893709
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for quantizing images using machine-learning. A plurality of input images are received from a sensor (e.g., a camera), wherein each input image includes a plurality of pixels. Utilizing an image-to-image machine-learning model, each pixel is assigned a new pixel color. Utilizing a mixer machine-learning model, each new pixel color is converted to one of a fixed number of colors to produce a plurality of quantized images, with each quantized image corresponding to one of the input images. A loss function is determined based on an alignment of each input image with its corresponding quantized image via a pre-trained reference machine-learning model. One or more parameters of the image-to-image machine-learning model and the mixer model are updated based on the loss function. The process repeats, with each iteration updating the parameters of the image-to-image machine-learning model and the mixer model, until convergence, resulting in trained models.

  • Publication number: 20240037393
Abstract: A method for training a control policy for controlling a technical system. The method includes training a neural network to implement a value function by: adapting the neural network for reducing a loss which, for a plurality of states and, for each state, for at least one action that has been previously carried out in the state, involves a deviation between a prediction for a cumulative reward and an estimation of the cumulative reward that is ascertained from a subsequent state that has been achieved by the action, and a reward that is obtained by the action. In the loss, for each action, the deviation for the action is weighted more strongly the greater the likelihood is that the action is selected by the control policy, in relation to the likelihood that the action is selected by a behavior control policy. The method also includes training the control policy.
