  • Publication number: 20180222601
Abstract: Fire- and electromagnetic interference (EMI)-resistant aircraft components and methods for manufacturing the same are provided. A fire-and EMI-resistant aircraft component includes an article comprised of a polymeric material. A fire-retardant material layer overlies the article. A thermally and electrically conductive coating material layer is disposed intermediate the article and the fire-retardant material layer. Optionally, at least one continuous electrically conductive element is integrated with the polymeric material of the article.

  • Patent number: 9957062
Abstract: Fire- and electromagnetic interference (EMI)-resistant aircraft components and methods for manufacturing the same are provided. A thermally and electrically conductive coating material layer is formed on at least a portion of an intermediate article comprised of a non-metallic material. The thermally and electrically conductive coating material layer is comprised of a metal. A fire-retardant material layer is cold sprayed on the thermally and electrically conductive coating material layer. At least one continuous electrically conductive element may be integrated with the non-metallic material of the intermediate article.

  • Patent number: 8601663
Abstract: Methods are provided for structurally repairing a component having a damaged internally threaded opening. The damaged internally threaded opening is machined to a predetermined diameter, thereby forming a machined opening. At least one notch is formed in the machined opening, thereby forming a notched opening. A selected amount of repair material is cold sprayed into the notched opening, including into the at least one notch. A plurality of internal threads is formed from the repair material to form a repaired internally threaded opening in the component. The repaired components are also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 13, 2012
Date of Patent: December 10, 2013

  • Patent number: 7775123
Abstract: A weld inspection device is disclosed. The weld inspection device comprises a first annular engagement portion surrounding a central axis and a second annular engagement portion. The first annular engagement portion has a first holed segment extending circumferentially around an outer edge of the first annular engagement portion and having a first hole adapted to receive a threaded member and a standoff segment extending in a first direction along the central axis from the first holed segment, the standoff segment having a concavity. The second annular engagement portion surrounds the central axis and has a second holed segment extending circumferentially around the central axis and having a second hole adapted to receive and threadedly engage a threaded member, and a retaining flange extending radially inward toward the central axis.
