  • Patent number: 9891701
Abstract: A location of a sensor is determined by: (1) receiving time series data including components in a plurality of dimensions, wherein the time series data correspond to measurements of the sensor that is applied to a subject; (2) determining a plurality of subsequences associated with the time series data, wherein each of the plurality of subsequences represents a characteristic pattern projected along one of the plurality of dimensions; (3) identifying a correlated subset of the plurality of subsequences as at least one instance of an activity of the subject; and (4) based on features of the correlated subset, determining the location of the sensor as applied to the subject.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 2, 2012
Date of Patent: February 13, 2018
Assignee: THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA
Inventors: Majid Sarrafzadeh, Ani Nahapetian, Alireza Vahdatpour, Mahsan Rofouei
  • Publication number: 20170319096
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that use wireless coupling of energy for operation of both external and internal devices, including external sensor arrays and implantable devices. The signals conveyed may be electronic, optical, acoustic, biomechanical, and others to provide in situ sensing and monitoring of internal anatomies and implants using a wireless, biocompatible electromagnetic powered sensor systems.

  • Publication number: 20160117459
Abstract: A sematic medical technology is disclosed. In various embodiments, the technology organizes an initial data collection to collect data from the one or more sensors; processes the data to obtain an initial diagnosis wherein the initial diagnosis can be a syntax diagnosis or a semantic diagnosis; identifies an organization for a n additional data collection to collect additional data; analyzes the additional data to obtain a refined diagnosis; and repeats the identifying and analyzing until a stopping criterion is satisfied.
    Type: Application
    Filed: January 4, 2016
    Publication date: April 28, 2016
    Inventors: Miodrag POTKONJAK, Ani NAHAPETIAN
