  • Patent number: 12337005
Abstract: The present invention provides in certain embodiments methods of inhibiting platelet function or thrombosis, inhibiting pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) dimerization, and/or treating a disease associated with thrombosis by administering a composition comprising a dimeric pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) inhibitor in a patient in need thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 26, 2021
Date of Patent: June 24, 2025
Assignee: UNIVERSITY OF IOWA RESEARCH FOUNDATION
Inventors: Anil Chauhan, Manasa K. Nayak
  • Patent number: 12036384
Abstract: The disclosed apparatus, systems and methods relate to devices, systems and methods for improving thrombolysis via synergetic application of thrombolytics with physical factors, such as in acute ischemic stroke patients. Vibration in the low (0.5-120 Hz) frequency range is synergistic with tissue plasminogen activators (rtPA), significantly improving the effectiveness of thrombolysis without impairing blood brain barrier permeability. Administration of low frequency vibration combined with rtPA improve acute ischemic stroke outcomes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 5, 2020
Date of Patent: July 16, 2024
Assignee: University of lowa Research Foundation
Inventors: Enrique C. Leira, Thomas Schnell, Salam F. Rahmatalla, Andrew A. Pieper, Anil Chauhan

  • Publication number: 20200383632
Abstract: Provided are devices and methods that deform tissue synchronous with an MR imaging cycle, as well as devices and methods for determination of dynamic determination of one or more mechanical properties of the tissue, including properties of muscle tissue. Such determination can be performed with and without imaging of the tissue being evaluated.

  • Publication number: 20070015703
Abstract: This invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition having thrombolytic activity comprising ADAMTS13, and to methods for treating or preventing a disorder associated with the formation and/or the presence of one or more thrombus and to methods of disintegrating one or more thrombus in a patient in need thereof. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of a pharmaceutically effective amount of ADAMTS13 for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing a disorder associated with the formation or the presence of one or more thrombus and for disintegrating one or more thrombus in a patient in need thereof.
