  • Patent number: 4924920
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing material in which a housing is adapted to store a supply of material therein. The housing has an exit aperture for discharging the material therefrom. The exit aperture is sealed by inner and outer seals. The outer seal prevents access to the inner seal when the exit aperture is in a closed position. When the housing is moved from the closed position to an open position, the inner seal moves over the outer seal to an open position wherein the exit aperture is spaced from both the inner and outer seals so that material may be discharged therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4913448
Abstract: A sealing arrangement for a container in which an auger having vanes is disposed in the chamber thereof for moving particulate material stored therein. A threaded sealing member is adapted to engage the auger vanes so as to be driven along the container on rotation of the auger. The sealing member is mounted slidingly within the container but is restrained from rotating about the auger. On rotating the auger, in one direction, the sealing member moves along the auger to a storage position located beyond the auger vanes.

  • Patent number: 4842423
Abstract: An apparatus which seals a shaft mounted rotatably on a bearing member. At least two spaced apart annular flanges are mounted on the shaft. One of the flanges being is arranged to bear radially against the bearing member. An annular sealing member is mounted on the shaft between the two flanges in abutting relation with at least one of the flanges to form a radial seal with the bearing member.

  • Patent number: 4538799
Abstract: A sheet feeding apparatus for a copying machine includes two sheet trays and a frictional feeding device in a fixed location for top-feeding sheets from either one of the stacks. The trays are carried one above another by a tray carriage and are arranged for independent slideable withdrawal from the tray carriage towards the front of the machine. The tray carriage is mounted for vertical movements, and the upper tray is slideably mounted on a sub-frame for movements thereover in the sheet feed direction, i.e. across the machine, so that the top sheet in either one of the two trays may be brought into feeding engagement with the feeder device.

  • Patent number: 4523832
Abstract: A sheet transport for a photocopier for reversing the direction of sheet travel has only an outer curved guide surface, and input, intermediate and output drive rolls spaced apart less than the length of a sheet. The disengageable output drive nip cooperates with an opposed guide surface and one or more retractable stops to achieve registration of the copy sheet with the image.
