  • Publication number: 20240115653
Abstract: The invention provides a method and kits for inhibiting integrin ?9?1 activity comprising contacting integrin ?9?1 or a binding partner of integrin ?9?1 with an isolated anti-integrin ?9 inhibitor, wherein the integrin ?9?1 activity is inhibited. In certain aspects, the present invention provides a novel intervention by targeting integrin ?9?1 with a functional blocking inhibitor (e.g., peptides or antibodies) to limit brain damage following reperfusion after ischemic stroke.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 13, 2023
    Publication date: April 11, 2024
Applicant: UNIVERSITY OF IOWA RESEARCH FOUNDATION
Inventors: Anil K. Chauhan, Nirav A. Dhanesha

  • Patent number: 7682793
Abstract: A process for the preparation of active receptor and receptor complex fractions from cell lines expressing cell surface receptors which comprises applying ultrasonication to provide said expression to the cells in an aqueous (detergent free or substantially detergent free) composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 31, 2002
Date of Patent: March 23, 2010
    Inventor: Anil K. Chauhan
  • Publication number: 20090010937
Abstract: The invention relates to demonstrate the presence of non covalently linked complement proteins with CIC. Invention demonstrate the presence of C5 and MAC on CIC. The invention provides methods to measure M complement proteins C1q, C3, C4, C5 bound to CIC as markers of disease activity and pathogenicity for complement and CIC mediated diseases. The invention also relates to modifications and blocking of formation of MAC on the CIC by developing a useful reagent that can be monoclonal antibody, active molecule, mimotope or peptide molecule. The invention describes usefulness to reduce the non-covalent complement components, formation of MAC and association of C5 to CIC for therapeutic application in pathological disease with involvement of CIC and complement.
