  • Patent number: 12199871
Abstract: A method in a client backoff filter. The method includes receiving, from a server, a backoff data packet having backoff metadata. The method also includes saving the backoff metadata in a cache local to the client backoff filter. The method also includes receiving a subsequent request for service. The method also includes checking whether an attribute of the subsequent request for service matches the backoff metadata in the cache. The method also includes performing, responsive to checking, an action including at least one of the group including: blocking, responsive to the attribute matching the backoff metadata in the cache, transmission of the subsequent request for service to a server, and transmitting, responsive to the attribute failing to match the backoff metadata in the cache, the subsequent request for service to the server.

  • Patent number: 10650403
Abstract: Techniques for distributing online ads by targeting online ad requests using test data to predict performance. The techniques can target ad requests in automated online advertising systems in which ad requests are generated by an ad exchange server and bids are placed by marketer devices in real time. The techniques aggregate bid units and compare bid unit characteristics to select bid units to target in ways that address data sparsity, variance, and volume issues. Data sparsity issues are addressed by aggregating bid units to avoid using bid units having insufficient data. Data variance issues are addressed by computing stability metrics for bid units that enable discounting the effect of outliers. Data volume and processing efficiency issues are addressed by grouping similar bid units based on similar metrics (e.g., normalized ROI) and/or similar stability scores, and then ranking the bid units and selecting the top ranked bid units to target.

  • Patent number: 10410187
Abstract: A data management system for managing services rendered within a network of one or more medical service entities and one or more insurance entities includes a provider interface, a payment interface, and a processing engine. The provider interface receives information about one or more medical services in a first format. The processing engine generates an invoice based on the information about the one or more medical services and determines that the invoice is to be paid in a plurality of installments. The payment interface receives each of the plurality of installments from one or more payment services. The provider interface further generates, in a second format, a transaction for each of the plurality of installments and sends said transactions to the one or more medical service entities. The provider interface then transmits information indicating completion of the installments to the one or more medical service entities in the second format.

  • Patent number: 9618042
Abstract: A bearing assembly for rotatably supporting a shaft member having an outer ring, having a first bearing raceway, and an inner ring, having a second bearing raceway. The raceways are opposingly spaced relative to each other. The inner ring includes a plurality of tang members extending in a cantilevered configuration from at least one end of the inner ring having slots formed therebetween. Bearing members are positioned in a space between and in engagement with the first and second bearing raceways. An undercut groove extends circumferentially along an inner surface of the inner ring generally adjacent the plurality of tang members. The undercut groove is operable to increase an effective cantilever distance of the plurality of tang members. The assembly further includes a locking member engaging the plurality of tang members and exerting a compressing force upon the plurality of tang members to couple the inner ring to the shaft.

  • Publication number: 20150317670
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating a forward-looking, goal seeking marketing plan that links prior media purchase transactions to predicted future financial results for a brand, product market, or campaign. A computing device is configured to receive input data associated with one or more marketing elements, such as television ads, print ads, and online ads. From the input data, response factors corresponding to each marketing element can be calculated. These response factors can be used to generate a model upon which future marketing transactions can be planned in accordance with scenarios associated with a particular marketing campaign. A marketing plan can be generated from the model in which some or all marketing elements are ordered in a flighting schedule that provides optimum financial results for a selected scenario.

  • Publication number: 20150227964
Abstract: An ensemble model is described that is usable to predict revenue metrics for one or more keywords. The ensemble model may be formed using both a historical model and a user behavior model. In one or more implementations, weights are assigned to the historical model and/or the user behavior model based on one or more criteria. Various processing techniques of the ensemble model may utilize the historical model and the user behavior model to predict revenue metrics for one or more keywords.
