  • Publication number: 20150254589
Abstract: System(s) and method(s) to provide inventory optimization in a multi-echelon supply chain network are disclosed. An input data comprising one or more product supply parameters along with an uncertainty factor associated with the product supply parameters are received through a configurable user interface. The input data is used to create a multi-echelon supply chain network. Supplier nodes are selected based on optimizing parameters and are allocated with respect to demand nodes. A lead time demand and a safety stock parameter are calculated. An optimal inventory plan is generated for each supply chain member associated with the supply chain network along with the safety stock parameter by minimizing the uncertainty factor thereby providing the inventory optimization. The optimal inventory plan is displayed in one or more parameters over the configurable user interface.

  • Patent number: 8620885
Abstract: Many public utilities companies employ meter data management systems (MDMSs) to manage the millions and sometimes billions of daily and interval meter read values that they collect during a single billing period. One problem with some MDMSs estimate missing daily reads based on average daily usage and these estimates do not match daily usage values determined from interval read data, causing sum check exceptions. Such exceptions are undesirable because they can lead to billing errors and lost consumer confidence in the utility, among other things. To address this, the present inventors devised an exemplary system that uses good and estimated interval read data to more accurately estimate the missing daily reads and thereby reduce occurrences of sum check exceptions. The exemplary system also estimates missing time of use and demand data based on interval read data.

  • Patent number: 7955663
Abstract: Processes for the simultaneous and selective growth of single walled and multiwalled carbon nanotubes in a single set of experiments are disclosed. The processes may include preparing a graphite electrode rod containing catalyst selected from Fe, Co, Ni, and a mixture thereof, acting as an anode. The process may include preparing another graphite electrode rod, each electrode having a distal and a proximal end. The process may include placing the above said two electrodes parallel to each other and their axis being substantially aligned in a chamber. The process may further include creating a DC-arc discharge inside the chamber by applying a DC-current voltage. The process may further include an cooling assembly having a cooling coil that surrounds the two electrodes. The cooling assembly may be used to maintain a temperature gradient that permits the depositing of single walled and multiwalled carbon nanotubes simultaneously in one experiment.
