Abstract: A method for reducing noise within an acoustic signal includes receiving at least a primary acoustic signal from a primary microphone and a secondary acoustic signal from a different, secondary microphone, wherein the primary acoustic signal includes a speech component emanating from a user and a noise component. The method also includes measuring a first value of a first coefficient based on the primary and secondary signals and performing a noise cancellation process based on the measured first value of the first coefficient to produce a set of noise-cancelled primary sub-bands. The method also includes generating, by the processor, a set of multiplicative gain mask values, the multiplicative gain mask values having a frequency dependency that is based at least in part on a pre-indicated approximate sound pressure level of the speech component.

Abstract: A platform supports an unmanaged secured workgroup, without a server, for common user access and secure resource sharing among the computers in the group. User accounts are synchronized by replicating and modifying the accounts at each computer of the unmanaged secured workgroup. A computer advertises a change in account information to other computers in an unmanaged secured workgroup. If one of computers in the unmanaged secured workgroup determines that the change is not reflected in the current account information, the computer requests the updated account information from the advertising computer. Any conflicts between user accounts at different computers are resolved before synchronizing the user account in the unmanaged secured workgroup. Also, an application program interface (API) enables an application to query properties of a networked computer system and an unmanaged secured workgroup and to join the unmanaged secured workgroup.

Abstract: A method and a system for enabling transmission of a protected document from an electronic device to a host device are provided. The method includes: establishing a connection with between the electronic device by and the host device to communicate with the electronic device using a document viewer protocol; receiving a request by the electronic device from the host device for performing at least one operation on the protected document, wherein the protection of the protected document is specific to the electronic device; decoding the protected document by the electronic device on receiving the request; arranging the decoded protected document in accordance with the received request and the document viewer protocol; and transmitting the arranged protected document to the host device via a transport medium using the document viewer protocol.

The method includes receiving a management pack containing configuration information enabling an operations manager to remotely manage computer systems and computer software, and automatically verifying the management pack by determining whether the management pack satisfies a set of requirements.

Abstract: A host computer system obtains a request for an aggregated view of content in a computer network corresponding to a criterion. The host computer system queries networked computer systems to identify data objects according to the criterion. Each responding computer system provides an identification set of specified data objects that are stored at the responding computer to the host computer systems. The host computer system merges the identification sets to form the aggregated view of content to a user. If a specified data object is replicated to networked computers, the host computer system provides one instance of the specified data object in the query result. Consequently, concurrent utilization of file synchronization and the aggregated view of data objects are facilitated. If a specified data object is stored at the host computer system, the host computer system blocks querying of networked computers about the specified data object.

Abstract: A health model builder may construct a health model from instrumentation of software. To do so, the instrumentation of the software component may be mapped to states of operation of the software component and the instrumentation may be grouped together. A health model may be built with the states of operation resulting from mapping the instrumentation to states of operation of the software component and with transitions between the states of the health model that represent an occurrence of instrumentation in an instrumentation group. The system allows for identification of anti-alert instrumentation to be added where instrumentation is missing for reporting recovery from failure. Moreover, a blame component may be identified for any instrumentation of a software component that indicates it failed because of another software component.

Abstract: A web publishing application can generate and save web files to a web server based upon a user's design of a web page or web site. If the user subsequently modifies the web page or web site using the web publishing application, the web publishing application can identify and save only the new web files and modified web files to the web server that result from the user's modifications. For example, the web publishing application can identify which web files are new files and which web files have been modified by comparing the hash values and hash algorithms associated with the web files to the hash values and hash algorithms associated with the stored web files.
