  • Publication number: 20220182172
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications network may operate in accordance with an open-RAN (ORAN) network specification which may support functional splitting between the ORAN distributed unit (O-DU) and the ORAN radio unit (RU) located at a base station. The O-DU may communicate with the O-RU using control messaging, and the O-DU may signal whether various resource block groups are used for data allocation by enabling or disabling bits in a bit mask parameter in a header of the control message. To increase communications efficiency and reduce overhead, the O-DU may dynamically configure the number of bits included in a bit mask based on a radio access technology (RAT) type. The O-DU may determine the size of the bit mask in the control message based on the RAT type and may generate the control message that includes the bit mask.

  • Patent number: 11343354
Abstract: In various examples, upon receiving an indication from a launcher application that a user desires to engage with a cloud gaming or computing service, and determining that a desired computing resource requested for such engagement is unavailable for allocation, one or more interactive content items may be presented in association with a display of the user's local computing device. User actuation of an interactive content item may cause presentation of an options window. One option may cause presentation of an additional content item in the background so it may be viewed after engagement. Another option may cause display of an additional content item, such as in place of the interactive content item or in a web browser external to the launcher application. This option may also cause cancellation of the user request for the allocation and removal of the user request from a queue.

  • Publication number: 20220158724
Abstract: A mobile communication system for sending data to one or more satellite resources over a wireless connection includes one or more processors and a memory coupled to the processors. The memory stores data into a database and program code that, when executed by the processors, causes the mobile communication system to receive a primary service data stream and a secondary service data stream, and determine a bandwidth utilization efficiency of the wireless connection between the mobile communication system and the one or more satellite resources. In response to determining the wireless connection has available headroom, the primary service data stream is combined with the secondary service data stream to create an aggregated data packet. In response to determining the aggregated data packet is less than or equal to the size of the available headroom, the mobile communication system transmits the aggregated data packet over the wireless connection.

Abstract: A method is provided for determining a context-index when performing Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC) for video compression or decompression includes initializing to an initialized value each of a plurality of context-indexes of chosen syntax elements associated with a given block (e.g., a macroblock). The context-index of dependent neighboring blocks of the given block is evaluated. The dependent neighboring blocks are blocks that have a context-index that depends on coding of a current bin position. The context-index of the dependent neighboring blocks is updated if and only if their context-index changes from the initialized values.
