  • Patent number: 10282747
Abstract: Techniques for providing content to a computing device of a user are described. For example, a platform hosts a plurality of tools includes an analytics tool and a content tool. Input of a customer of the platform is received and specifies user segments and content to be provided accordingly. The tools are updated based on the customer input. User interactions of the user are also received and analyzed by, for example, the analytics tool. The analytics tool outputs an indication that the user is associated with a user segment based on the analysis. The output identifies the user segment and the user based on a format usable by the other tools. In turn, the content tool automatically receives and uses the output as an input to determine the content and the target of the content. Accordingly, the content tool provides the content to the computing device of the user.

  • Publication number: 20090188451
Abstract: An automotive engine cover is provided that at least partly covers an automotive engine in an automotive engine compartment. The engine cover, includes, but is not limited to cooling fins that are made of a metallic or ceramic material. The automotive engine cover is provided with improved cooling effect as compared to known automotive engine covers. The improved cooling effect prolongs the life-time of the automotive engine cover. The improved cooling effect also help to increase the life-time of other components in the engine compartment, which otherwise may degrade, deform or even melt due to heat transfer from heat-generating components in the engine. In turn, this paves the way for the design of engines which may generate even more heat than today.

  • Publication number: 20080017286
Abstract: Methods of extruding magnesium-based casting alloys are provided. The magnesium alloys have relatively high strength and castibility, as well as an improved ductility and extrudability for wrought alloy applications. The magnesium-based wrought alloy comprises aluminum (Al) of between about 2.5 to about 3.5 wt. %, manganese (Mn) of less than about 0.6 wt. %, zinc (Zn) of less than about 0.22 wt. %, other impurities of less than about 0.1 wt. %, and a balance of magnesium (Mg). The disclosure provides various methods of forming extruded structural components, including automotive components, and methods of forming such wrought alloys.

  • Publication number: 20070269337
Abstract: A tin-containing magnesium-aluminum-manganese (Mg—Al—Mn) based alloy that provides a desired combination of strength and ductility so as to be particularly suited for structural applications. The alloy includes magnesium, aluminum, and manganese in combination and about 0.5% to about 3.5% tin. The tin addition improves strength without substantial loss of ductility.

  • Publication number: 20070199625
Abstract: A method of promoting the precipitation of secondary metal carbides in a carbon enriched zone of a carburized steel part with the reduced or eliminated use of cobalt and the resultant product. Copper is added to a steel alloy in combination with carbide forming non-ferrous metals for use in a part subjected to carburizing heat treatment tempering. During tempering the copper establishes heterogeneous nucleation sites to catalyze precipitation of non-ferrous metal carbides on the copper particles and/or on dislocations thereby reducing the need for cobalt additions.

  • Publication number: 20060119139
Abstract: An instrument panel beam includes an elongated main member having a bent tubular configuration, and a plurality of structural supports connected to the member. The beam is formed of a lightweight material, such as a magnesium or aluminum alloy. The beam is preferably constructed utilizing a die-cast process, wherein at least a portion of the member is overmolded by each support so as to cooperatively form a soldered region therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20060076200
Abstract: A Coulomb friction damped disc brake rotor, wherein damping is provided Coulomb friction in generally coextensive relation with the braking surfaces of the one or more rotor cheeks. The Coulomb friction damped disc brake rotor has at least one interfacial boundary formed in at least one rotor cheek disposed in generally coextensive relation to the braking surface thereof. The interfacial boundary provides a mechanically distinguishable surface boundary between two surfaces which are in mutual contact such that a state of Coulomb friction exists therebetween.
