Abstract: An approach is provided for mapping relevant and up-to-date online content to content collections using a single programming tool. The collection management platform determines one or more content items from one or more content catalogs. The collection management platform causes, at least in part, a mapping of the one or more content items to one or more collection objects. The collection management platform causes, at least in part, a presentation of the one or more collection objects in one or more content stores, one or more content store management systems, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: An approach for merchandizing online content collections at various layers of a hierarchy is disclosed. A content merchandizing platform determines at least one slot of at least one page associated with one or more content stores, wherein the at least one slot is for presenting one or more content items. The content merchandizing platform also causes, at least in part, an association of at least one collection of the one or more content items with the at least one slot. The content merchandizing platform further causes, at least in part, a selection of at least a portion of the at least one collection to present in the at least one slot.

A content management platform causes a specification of one or more hierarchical layers for managing content associated with one or more content stores. The content management platform then determines at least one content collection associated with the one or more content stores. It then determines to organize the at least one content collection into one or more bins associated with respective ones of the one or more hierarchical layers.
